Hi Richard. Yes another fantastic day for yourself and everyone else who attended. As for camera setup that's a trade secret lol. Hopefully see you out next month for Culverden ride.

@bentowse Yes thanks very much for being part of the organising for the event Ben... though wasn't all good had two guys shower me in rock's and roost and I almost packed it in after lap 1. Hope you and the boys can make it to Culverden next month 👍

It was a fantastic day for riding, I had a blast. How is your camera mounted, apparently I was told I couldn't have my GoPro mounted on the front of my helmet by that lady checking them, but I didn't hear her. Got pulled up by her on my third lap, basically couldn't go back out.

You have a new bike looks like a Husqvarna, what year and size is it how are you liking compared to the Honda.
@westsidehonda857212 күн бұрын
Hi Richard, yup 100% correct regards the Husqvarna. It's a 2022 FE250, to answer your question compared to my dualsport CRF250L it feels like night and day it is 36+ kg lighter for a start! ( I weighed it fully fuelled on a local weighbridge here on the coast- 110kg ) so I'm already enjoying the associated benefits along with mapping and TC. I think if the Japanese manufacturers can take on the Euro guys at the enduro market we'd all benefit. Take care and ride safe👍
@RichardStreeterYZ450FX12 күн бұрын
@westsidehonda8572 That's awesome doesn't look like it'd have many hours on it. 36kgs damn you'd certainly notice that, bet it puts a big smile on your face, you were giving it a good handful of gas there in a few places.

Hey there, that grass was pretty slick on the first couple of laps nice line later in the day once the grass had been chewed out. 06:48 not a good spot to go down good on yas for helping out.
@westsidehonda857212 күн бұрын
Hey Richard good to hear from you and yes that grass was very slick in places, yes at 06:48 the guy was very lucky not to have gotten a free rescue chopper ride!!! Spoke to him later in the pits and typical of an older rider getting back into it after a few years away from riding- age is a bastard that gets us all in the end🤣. hope you enjoyed your day and look forward to seeing your enduro laps.

Well done for having a crack at an enduro, they can be tricky if as you say you don't have the skills, but you won't gain those skills if you don't have a crack. They can suck a lot of energy if you have to pick up or push, drag your bike, when I went through the first enduro for the second time there was a 16yo girl having a crack, it was probably they more difficult of the three. It was really dry this year usually this ride has 5 or 6 sections that are tricky when wet, great day and weather for a ride. Cheers Richard

Thanks for your comments Richard. Not beyond my riding capabilities the enduro sections just rusty and time on the bike will help ( though I am considering a lighter weight machine than my current Dualsport 144kg bike🥵 ). Yes 100% agree with you regards having a crack and skill building I wonder if that 16 year old you spoke of was on a Ktm? As I met a father and daughter who had done the enduro part I had ( they were both on 2 strokes ). Interesting you say this ride has been wet these past few years as Sunday was perfect for us all!!! You rode past me one part of the day and thought to myself "I wonder what lap number Richard is on lol😁?! " Ride safe and see you on the next ride....maybe👍

Hey there nice riding and filming although it was pretty hard keeping the camera clear of rain and mud, I know some of my footage was pretty crappy. Looks like you had a good time there wouldn't have been to many riders not hit the ground, I know I found a hidden tree root on my first lap.
@westsidehonda85724 ай бұрын
Hey Richard, thanks for your comments. Yes it wasn't the best for filming was it?! Yes I agree wouldn't have been many of us out there who didn't drop it very greasy in places. Great to see you doing the enduro options too something to look forward to once I hone my skills a bit more👍 . Cheers

What was that you said earlier about fresh bark being knocked off trees? ;) Was a great day out, hope you had fun. Remember to give the camera a wipe now & then. Thanks for putting up the vid. :)

Awesome to see you guys again and top job helping out with the downed riders. Nice clear footage from your gopro too. Ill have a spare plug at the next one so more than one lap next time. CRF runs mint by the sound of it too.

Cheers Josh, always a pleasure riding with you and Clayton 😎!! Yeah just doing what I hope someone would do for me if I went down lol. Stoked with my GoPro's and you inspired me to run the chest cam👍 ( Hero4 ) and ( Hero12 on helmet ). You've got it bro, spare plugs always handy with 2t's and happy you got out with the crew for at least 1 lap blast!!! Yeah loving the CRF have decided she's a keeper and so next step upgrades 😁

Hi Richard, thank you for your comment. Yes I really enjoyed the day out and I wasn't too surprised by the attrition rate of injured/downed rider's. As you'd know there were plenty of fast sections of the trails but I believe a LOT of people are missing the point... it's in the name of the event "Trail ride", not a free for all National enduro series but that's only my opinion. Each to their own. Looked like you had fun with some of the enduro sections yourself! Take care and ride safe 👍 . Cheers Hamish

Hey there, it was a bloody awesome day for riding you looked like you had a good day. This ride seemed to be hard on some riders 3 ambo rides and a helicopter ride for one, I also seen dude with his arm in a sling and another with an ice pack on his shoulder, you have footage of two downed riders, on Steve Henleys page he has footage of a guy hitting a rock and then hitting the ground. Cheers Richard

Thank you for your comment. Yes it was a fantastic little sportsbike from the golden era of 90's sportsbikes!!! Pity we'll probably never see the likes of them again. Nice note on your Fireblade too!

That machine sounds fantastic!! Here in the United States we didn't have access to any of the 400 sport bikes such as yours. The only exception being the Yamaha FZR. Your CBR looks and sounds like a dream 👍

Thanks very much for your comment! Yes I have heard and read that about your country, it's unfortunate you guys didn't get to the opportunity to experience these awesome little sportsbikes. Lucky for us In New Zealand we got all of the gems that Japan made in the 90's. I sold it to a good home, now I just do some trail riding with a trusty Honda Crf250L and for road duties I've got an '09 Cbr600rr. Ride safe!!👍
