I remember Lew as a kid and he was awesome even then. I would pass his house and he was practicing, practicing all the time. R'I.P. Good guy! Frederick "Rik" Spector

I love the maestro! He is one of the few the word « maestro » actually fits! Then too, he is the quintessential gentleman! In a world of ruffians throughout the music industry, this man exudes grandeur and quiet elegance without trying. He is magnificent!

This is a truly outstanding piece of jazz... Every player excels, individually, and as an integral group member.-- As in their version of duke Ellington's classic "Take The A Train", they allow bass player Charnett Moffett an extended solo here, the implication being they think highly of his playing, but then again their drummer Victor Feldman gets a pretty good solo as well.....

+tunefultony johnson I don't think the drummer is Victor Feldman, unless there were two VFs. Victor Feldman that wrote for and played with Miles Davis was white. Could be the pianist? Who is the sax player?

+Steve Lawless Drummer is Victor Lewis with George Young or Andy Snitzer? on sax.
@tunefultonyjohnson41009 жыл бұрын
+Steve Lawless Thanks for correcting me, Mr. Lawless.... I got a bit mixed up, perhaps because they are both called Victor. You're right :: Victor Feldman was the composer and pianist, but the drummer on this 2003 album BLUE BOSSA was Victor Lewis. The saxophone player is Andy Snitzer, on piano David Matthews, on bass Charnett Moffett, on trumpet Lew Soloff. Victor Lewis is one of my favourite drummers, so I really should have got his name right. George Young featured in an earlier incarnation of this group, with Eddie Gomez and Steve Gadd.
