Seen the Stones 32 times between 1972 and 2024. I’ve witnessed some of their greatest performances, but the 1972 afternoon show in Philadelphia will always be my favorite. Why? Mick Taylor

Music meant something in those days. Way more so than today. There was an explosion of artistic Tallent with a cause behind it. The result was a generation that will always be defined by the rock and roll they played. And the stones were the apex of rock in those days. They were so good people still pay bucks to see them 60 years later in their 70's and 80's. Man, were we lucky.

Lets See: Mick Jagger, Keith, Charlie, Mick Taylor (the greatest virtuoso of them all), Bill Wyman, Bobby Keyes, Ian Stewart/Nicky Hopkins. That's it. That is the greatest R&R band ever. Compare this band with today if you can summon up any comparison at all. For today at this point 2024: Play what you love-not what you think the "fans" want to hear.

Great music but I wish there was more footage of the guitarists playing. Why is it always the singers that get all the attention? The Rolling Stones are at least as much about Keith's iconic guitar riffs as Jagger's singing.

don't kid yourselves the rolling stones are 100% keith richards -- taylor and any 6th grader can play scales over his beautiful rhythms and he composed them - huh ?

A hot summer night in July of 1972. Im in the 4th row (center) of Madison Square Garden in New York City The Stoner are perhaps 30 feet away from me. I was scared and estatic at the same time. This was a moment of moments for me. They meant business and they played Rock and Roll.. all night.

In the thread Mark Horton says what I was thinking before reading the comments. Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman are much under featured in the cinematography. The director and camera operators making this film missed much; the editorial weakness is laid bare!
