The fact that the only remains of the dog is bones, just bones not a renamed bone,no graves it's like that person completely forgot the identity of it's deceased dog. They always say that even if your loved ones passed away you will still remember them and they will live on your heart forever. But the dog didn't, the person don't recognize the dog's name and possibly it's appearance...the only thing that person knew is that he/she owns a dog and it died. I should know because that happens to me when I was a kid, a lot of my dog's puppies died but because I was still a child back then I don't completely remember their name, their fur color, nor how many puppies there is, and now that I'm a teenager the only thing I know is that I owned those puppies and they're long dead.

this reminds me of my aunt who we used to go to the pool at her house and last year she got dementia and i cant go back cause i know ill just end up crying and them not remembering who i am and why im crying.

this is really depressing. all good memories someone had, the friendships and more are just getting erased over time without any way of stopping that. And even if he wishes to go back to the good times, he just can‘t because he can‘t revert time. Can‘t even imagine how it must feel like cuz i never had any moments where i could feel happy or bad. I wonder what‘s the point of being happy or living life if everything ,including memories, gets erased anyway?

It saddens me how one can grow old only to forget all they have done, and to lose their mind to the horrors of dementia. Only to find a small period of mercy, where they can once again remember but only as they exhale their final breaths.

Some guy told me once: "Life is only truly good if you have someone to spend it with." That guy was my grandpa, who passed away. Thought i'd just share it with you, because we'll all die one day, it just matters who you spend it with.
