People already know that a car pulling a trailer needs more distance to stop. Now think about a diesel locomotive pulling about 700 meters of railcars.

the way the conductor hit the brakes and the brakes caused the train to slide down the tracks because it caused the wheels to lock up and slide down the track due to the speed and how much coal it was carrying

Guess what? Trains are actually not as quiet as a mouse, even the ones I’ve seen before I could literally hear the prime mover making its distinct chugging or whining sound even from a mile away.

Trains always have the right of way. It doesn't matter what the laws of humans have to say about it. The laws of physics say they do.

Communicating just by using English is probably not always a good idea. That is because let’s say the caller wasn’t born in the United States such as if they came from a Spanish speaking country such as Mexico but immigrated to the United States at some point and therefore doesn’t speak English. In that case you will likely not understand what they are saying. Therefore you should either learn how to speak other languages such as Spanish or find someone who speaks both English and Spanish and have them serve as a translator. That way they can then understand what the caller is saying and then can tell you about what they said thus making it easier for you to know what is going on.

This needs to be played in every Driver’s Ed classroom. Sure, it would be a traumatic sight to see the car totaled this way, even if it is just a simulation for TV, but at least it’s a visual that gets the point across. I’m sure that such an accident would also be traumatic for the railroad conductor and engineer, knowing that someone died because the train couldn’t stop in time.

First responders should also never attempt to beat a train nor should they ever go around railroad crossing gates or lights even if they are responding to a emergency such as a fire. Remember to save people in a emergency first responders have to be able to get there but if a first responder is struck by a train then they will be unable to respond to the call they were responding to meaning that not only could they be severely injured or killed but the people that they are trying to help could also be severely injured or killed due to the first responder being unable to get to the emergency in time.
@jfournerat12743 ай бұрын
Remember you can’t help someone if you become injured or killed yourself. That applies to any emergency situation where there are hazards and it also applies to when first responders are responding to a call and therefore it also applies to railroad crossings.
