This song was first recorded at the famous Abbey Road studios in England. In front of John, Paul and George Harrison. They were so inspired by the young 27 year old James Taylor and his acoustic rendition, they wrote their own " Something" later on, very different but inspired by and keeping the name ( this song was written by James )

I had not heard this in over 40 years. It was truly out of my memory. I think i got about 45 seconds into the song, singing along as the words came back to me and the tears started flow. A beautiful song and the power of memory

Not quite true. When Carly had cancer he phoned her. During the conversation she told him something along the lines that he could phone her whenever he wanted to. He replied that he couldn't since he would be phoning her all the time. I think his reaction in not wanting to talk about her publicly is not a measure of his hate towards her but is more probably a reflection of some regrets he might have. I know from interviews I've seen with Carly that she doesn't hold any bitter feelings towards James. I love them both.
