Agreed 100% those were terrible calls and the Saints probabl yshould have won but all that would have done to SF was subtract 1 victory from their season. 14-2 to 13-3

This was a common occurrence when the Saints played the 49ers back then. There were always at least 2 - 3 really bad calls going the 49ers way and the Saints played them twice a year!! Even with the obligatory calls for the 49ers the Saints managed to split with them most years and knock Joe Montana out of a lot of games.

There is no such thing as a turn in a quarterhorse race. This is rigged in favor of the other horse. The quarterhorse won fair and square. When you organize mismatched races...it's pure shameless rigging.

I was there. Had no idea about the Rice controversy until listening to the postgame show on the radio in traffic after the game ended. As soon as I saw the replays on TV, I knew the Saints fans were right to be livid. This game was originally supposed to be played at Candlestick, but the Giants making the playoffs caused a scheduling conflict. The solution was for the 49ers & Saints to swap home dates. Easy solution and also allowed me to attend the game as I was already gonna be in NO that weekend.

It takes the TB a while to wind up but when the QH drifted out….I knew it was over. Unless the QH faces a quality TB sprinter that will go with them right out of the gate…..like an Artex or Kona Gold type sprinter.

To be honest with you, I think archie was better, than his two sons. He had a better throwing arm for a QB. It's just he was on a shitty team in his career in football.

I picked him up at the Orlando International Airport. During the hour long ride to Daytona Beach, we talked about our college days. We arrived at the First Union building and rode the elevator to the top floor just in time. He was tonight's key note speaker. I was a new member of the club, and was put to work in the Speakers Committee. Tonight the speaker was my responsibility. Before the meeting, he met with alumni, some high school prospects and their parents and coaches, and local movers and shakers. At the end of the meeting, after his key note speech, which was crazy entertaining, he took pictures and signed autographs, and exchanged information with coaches and prospects. His flight out wasn't a flight out. Early the next morning he had another alumni meeting him at the hotel, and together they had two days planned to travel across the state doing home visits with parents of prospects. I drove him to his hotel on the beach, and he asked if he could buy me a drink at the little bar inside the hotel. Of course, I said you betcha. Except for the bartender, the only patrons were him and I. He asked the bartender if she could switch the TV to the Monday Night NFL game . The bartender had no idea who my friend was. To be honest, if your life was blind to college and pro football, there would be no reason to recognize him. Aside from being tall, being athletic looking, dressing respectable, he does kinda blend in. Watching that game with him changed how I watched football forever. He would calk every play before the snap. " The defense is fainting a red wide, but it's going to be inside red, coach needs to run sweep left, but he won't, ok, here we go... " He was right 90% of the plays he called. I was impressed. After the game, I asked him. Why are you who you are❓ He held up his hands. " My hands were this size when I was thirteen years old. They never got any bigger or any smaller. The way a baseball feels in your hand, the control you have , the power and control to hit a moving catchers mitt from the outfield, to throw out a breaking runner at home plate, these hands, my big ass hands, make a football behave like a baseball. That gives me extreme power and accuracy. These hands are the only reason you know Archie Manning." And I was never jealous of his fame again.

Class Act all the way. And he and his wife stayed true to New Orleans and raised their family there. They don't make them quite like Archie Manning anymore.

I can see from these comments you guys are a bunch of losers? Archie Manning never brought you guys any Joy? How do you get your number retired and you never have a winning season? I believe it's an insult to all the players that played around him for 14 years. Chuck Muncie and Wes Chandler didn't have any problem winning once they went to San Diego to play with Dan fouts? Quit making excuses for this loser 🤣🤣🤣 the only thing he was good at was getting paid.
@gurusrant74743 жыл бұрын
I just looked at his career stats and he was awful as an NFL quarterback? He never had a winning season! They were paying him $700,000 a year which would have been top quarterback money at that time... You can't be bad for 14 years and blame it on the talent around you?... at some point as the #2 overall pick you have to say that I wasn't very good at all. You never really played against black players in college and you didn't have blacks on your team so I think the speed of the game was too fast for you at that position. I think he probably would have been a better wide receiver.

I think the quarter horse was impressive and was on the outside so if it was a factionally shorter race, she would have blown it away. I'd also be interested to know the price difference as yearlings! I'd also like to see QH and greyhound race too...
