I discovered this music in the mental asylum and since then I only listen to it when I don't put a banana in my ears. The doctor still doesn't want me to go out but I don't care: I'm a tree!

This piece is a product of such a poor imagination... We have so many beautiful examples in the nature that are stochastic processes too - shapes of clouds, flames of a fire, river deltas, the Great Red Spot of Jupiter. This wretched music is a miserable attempt.

I actually like this. It's pleasantly mentally stimulating. It's kind of chaotic and I don't really know what's going to happen next, but it's also really structured. Is it music? Who knows. Would I hum it in the shower? Sure why not.

I remember they were showing me musical genres in like grade 2 and a music concrete one came on, and everyone but me wanted to relisten to the one with the dinosaur skeletons on it, same day I got tested for autism

can anyone explain how musicians would play this by looking at the score? how would they all keep time, know which notes to play, etc.?

I am fascinated by the comments and by how many people are intrigued by this. It seems even those with sarcastic comments find it interesting. This is my first time listening to Xenakis. Intrigued and I will listen again.

This is what I would classify horror music opera. I truly appreciate this track after so many years. This piece reflects the emotion of a deranged/ yet focused man. It truly manifests the psych of characters with severe mental disorders. The roller coaster of sounds (emotions), the seemingly inconsistency (torment of thoughts) distrubted by brief moments of chaos (anxiety).

If you were wondering in what context this music is useful: As many have said, this is Horror music. Is it kind of? What is more scary is when you realize these are mathematical concepts in music. If you ever REALLY wanted to 'Feel' what a mosquito mating party would sound and somewhat feel like. You are looking at and hearing it on a human scale. If understand that, this man was trying to bring to light how he saw randomness. For that, I'm grateful because now, we humans have something to be unsettled by when we shove our delicious popcorn, which also behaves the same way this song does when popping before the big bad pops out of the shadows. When in reality, those shadows, are the norm.
