I found the bathroom scenes the best. Really brought back memories for me. I grew up in Hawaii, joined the service during the mid sixties. The first time I had to fly from a commercial airport, had to use the restroom. I was shocked to see separate bathrooms and water fountains. My queries met with laughter from the Whites and some tried to explain why but it just confused me more. Unfortunately, I learned and was exposed to that racial bias during my whole time serving. Was glad to be back home in Hawaii.

I love that answer, "I held it up to the light.". That was a great job of redaction! He had told her to look beyond, and she did. I would love to have her brain. I struggled with math and science my entire life. My brain just doesn't work that way. I'm a words person, I am a concepts person. I'm not sure exactly what I am, but I do know that math and science don't fit into my brain. My physics professor told me that I was very intelligent person and that there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to grasp the concepts. Anyway, I've made this all about me, but I do have to admit that I'm envious of her scientific brain. I love science, I just can't understand it beyond a certain point. My brain just will not go there. I guess we all have different strengths, and it obviously has nothing to do with sex or race.

So if we need carbs how do people manage on carnivore ? Is this because the body can produce its own carbs ?
@hughgrantfitness4213
@hughgrantfitness4213 25 күн бұрын
In my opinion the carnivorous diet is unsustainable. You need a balanced diet that you can follow for the rest of your life. And yes, your body will turn proteins into carbs if needed. Carbs are also needed to burn stored body fat
@AndyPape-jj5ck
@AndyPape-jj5ck 26 күн бұрын
Surely protein is better than carbs as if not burned all carbs turn to sugar and can be stored as fat is this right ?
@hughgrantfitness4213
@hughgrantfitness4213 25 күн бұрын
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with protein. The body doesn’t as much protein as it does carbs. Yes, excess carbs and proteins will both get stored as fat

We knew in 68 that they had found sdvanced mathmeticians and computer programing. But till this movie even those that were young observers and srudents never knew who they were. And the MAGATS are horrified by it and want to hide some of the greatest inventors and thinkers because they were heads and heels above us white boys. And they were humble. Something you dont usually find people strong enough to stay that way.

What a waste. Allowing such a mind to be hindered from sexism and racism. While we've improved in large ways from this era we still waste our talented women far too often.

As great as their contributions were and are, can we call them what they are? They are Americans, Historians, Mathematicians, and Teachers. Why put African or black in front of what they are? It cheapens, in my opinion, what and who they are. Skin color should not matter, Democrats!
@hughgrantfitness4213
@hughgrantfitness4213 Ай бұрын
I completely disagree. For too long the contributions of non white and women’s accomplishments have not been highlighted. Yes, we hear about black athletes and musicians but never black and female academic achievements. We will have to agree to disagree.

I'm 59 going on 60 this month. I'm white. I live in the South. I watched this movie and loved it. I loved this scene. It showed two things. First, how intelligent people are, not just Kat, but also her boss. Secondly, how painful the lives of those who lived as adults in those times. I was 'taught' the N word. From people like my grandfather and his sons, my step-uncles. If I never met him or that portion of my family, I stand here now and wonder how my view on life and my world around me might be different. I have a lot of black coworkers and even had them as a boss or supervisors in the military. I learned a real truth then. These men are really no different than me. They simply had a different path through life that I had. Funny, how a 2 hour movie can still produce such discussions. Reach down, examine, and let's talk.
