I bought several of these. Just opened 3 two packs and have had my fingers snapped painfully. It feels like my index finger is broken. I had one before that I set and caught a mouse, but none of these will set. The minute you let go of the bar, it gets you... HARD I think they are defective or there is something badly wrong I wont buy them again My finger hurts I set 4 of the old style with no problem Poor design

What would we do if not for such smart people such as you?? I've been stumped forever on how to set up one of these complicated traps! Hope you make more videos like how to use a fork, how to operate a can opener, and maybe even how to use a microwave! I will be waiting anxiously for these videos!!!

Thank you! I accidentally set it off the first time I set it. I didn't hurt myself but it scared the sh*t out of me. lol It's now waiting for that pesky rodet that has set up camp in my cabinet. Edit: There are a couple of changes you need to make to your video. The first is that you need to tell people to not touch around the food (?) leaving their smell there *before* telling them how to put the food on the yellow piece. The other thing involves putting the arm into the paddle. You neglected telling us to *lift the paddle* so we can put the arm into the rectangular hole in the back of it...then move it back and forth to create the kind of sensitivity we want on the paddle. Worked just fine the old way. The "improved" yellow pedal is all but useless. Were mice in on the design program for this?

Guys stop crying about the new ones... Lol all you have to do to set these is make sure you set the bar on the left side of the plastic and when doing it make sure to angle the plastic really high up so it catches the bar it will work just give it few trys.

I just bought a 2 pack of traps, one with the old metal catch and one plastic. I tried over and over, and couldn't get the plastic catch to hold. Now they only sell the plastic catch traps at Lowes. WTF?

I left didn’t open for my dog and 32 rats made their way inside my house and sticky traps a more a joke to them . I had no Clive but to get these and I’m scared to death of them

These traps need tweaking as you will see dozens of KZbin videos showing you how, or just buy fenn mark4 traps instead

Hey victor, you can me $500 or some of your traps including an electric trap for this comment if it saves you money and allows you to provide a better trap. I had rats in my shop. I hadn’t purchased your traps for quite a while. In addition to being harder to set, more importantly I kept finding my two traps triggered at least 5 times. I believe the problem is that the plastic bait holder extends out to the edges of the trap, allowing the rat an extra millisecond to escape. I cut the bait holders down to about half size and am now catching rats. Make the bait holder the size of the old metal holder. Or even better go back to the metal holder which is much easier to set.

Well, my trap sprung, but no dead rat. It escaped somehow.

So many people keep complaining about the trap going off when they're trying to set it back, or it being too hard to set, when I know for a fact they probably never work out their hand muscles or set these damn traps on a flat surface. Stay in school y'all, physics will teach you how free-floating hooks for traps work. 💀

These things are terrible do not purchase. I tried setting two for about an hour, and I was lucky not to lose a finger and I was unsuccessful. The arm is too short to stay in the yellow tub.

Put hot glue on the bait and then set up the trap.

There must by zero quality control at the plant because the arm bar was too short to set the trap as shown. Junk. Threw mine in the trash.

These new ones with the yellow plastic suck, just leave them how they used to be, you didn't improve them.

It be nice if this video had cleaning instructions. I've followed the instructions for cleaning, but a few traps go off as if they've caught something. It's nice to know I can at least replace the trap half. Also, please please please make the catch light blink more frequently. 30 seconds is a long time to stand their waiting for the light to blink.

i tried setting it on the firm side, and it just wont set. i've been setting traps for years, back before they added this plastic tab. i think the plastic tab is just garbage. i'll find another company to buy traps from

Apply a small amount of Peanut Butter-Bacon they more like protein like Chocolate or Hazelnut Spread

I applied my peanut butter with my bare hands and found the trap licked clean about an hour later. They don't care about your scent! 😂

These are a nightmare, though I did manage to catch a mouse with some cream cheese. I'll be sticking to the other design in the future.

These plastic paddle traps are terrible to set. I am lucky the rat sized one didn't get me! I gave up. You can still get the metal paddle traps online...tried and true and you can stitch a piece of half-cooked bacon on to the paddles.

It's a little tricky to set, but it's easier than the plastic alligator ones. Hopefully, these work better. I will see in the morning.
