Good video 👍. I have yet to catch a smallmouth out there. Where was that “Jungle” as you called it in the beginning? Is it the far east side of the lake? I have only been to the Dam side, mid lake, and Butler’s cove. Hoping to get a smallmouth soon.

Thanks for sharing! Where do you launch your kayak from to get to Phipps Island. Do you think you can get a jet boat to that spot? Not sure it's true, but I've heard you'll get more bites if you tear the pinchers off your crawdads. That might make a fun test.
@johnbeall9402 ай бұрын
I'm new to the tri-cities area and have been trying to figure out how to stay safe given the TVA schedule. I've seen some people say, "stay off the water 4 hours after they start generating." Well, that eliminates much of the day in many cases. Can you make a video on how you work around the TVA generation schedule safely? Also, I do have a jet boat. Are they safe to be in when there is a big release of water?
@TackleJox2 ай бұрын
I’ve gotten a lot of questions about the TVA and that’s a good idea. I’ll put together a breakdown in the future!

Is this the section of river above Fort Patrick Henry Lake, or the one above South Holston Lake?

This section is below and downstream of the patrick Henry spillway, although anything in this watershed is killer for big smallies

Set the hook . It's basically a jig, not a crankbait or spinner bait as to where u just lean into and reel. Hook up to catch ratio will increase I promise. Love the content tho that river is a blast from Eastman down along the green belt

Using a container like that with some holes cut/drilled in the bottom will help speed up the crawfish catching, water drains out immediately and it makes it less likely the crawfish gets out while sweeping them in the container.

Hey buddy. Love this video. I hate inconsiderate boaters. But you may not know; if he slows down anywhere near you, his slowing down will often push out a bigger wake than the one he is currently making. He may not have noticed you in time to slow down enough to not cause a wake

@TackleJox3 ай бұрын
The French Broad and Nolichucky are SLEEPER river systems. I caught my first musky in the nolichucky river. I recommend 14-20 lb mono and a medium heavy baitcasting setup

Are spinning rods too flimsy for this type of river? Do the Baitcast rods handle the current better or do you just have more precision?
@TackleJox3 ай бұрын
It’s all relative in this river to how much current the dump from the dam, but that being said, I prefer baitcasters for jigs hands down
