Golden did pencils and color separations with Beatty on inks i believe, wonderful work, Golden only did 12 issues , they did a black n white series magazine format too a few issues. thx guys for this one!

I have this book, unfortunately the binding isn't great and some of the pages have become loose. They really need to reprint it and make it slightly larger so we can see all the details.

Kirby is my favorite but all the other artists you mentioned that worked for Marvel is all great and full of good memories for me from the late 1970s to the 1980s

there is something wrong with this version of the book. i dont know what they did but i recently compared my European copy with one of these and they did something strange with the 2pack. all dimensions are slightly off and the colours look a little bit different. I dont know if its some adaptation for the american market or if its a rctifact from the shrinking, but its wierd.

EXACTLY, Glennnnnnn!!!!!! America is trying to change how history was for the new children who will be passing down what they learn about history! DEFINITELY don't take the history away or water it down or outright change it! That's one of my biggest concerns about our future generations who will have places in power!

This is one of my favorites from Kirby, Captain Victory is just fun Sci-Fi ridiculous story that is too be enjoyed not critiqued. I think it’s great he got to do this and Silver Star without any restraints

Titan needs to reprint Modesty Blaise in some way or another. The collections themselves or larger omnibus editions. Great topic and Romero was a tremendous talent.

Check out Jose Villarrubia's colors on issue 1 of the Titan Conan comic. He does a little bit more than flat colors, but it compliments Roberto De La Torre's Buscema style artwork very well.

yes its very good!! I've gone for a plain feel - no brushwork and the occasional grad. Hopefully letting the inks do the heavy lifting.

Hey Russ, how do you go about doing retro looking colors? Do you knock back the saturation a bit? Limit yourself to a smaller palette? This is something I've been interested in doing for a comic book eventually.

Hi. Thats it exactly. I start off with a limited Marvel 80s CMYK colour chart. That can be a little bright so I turn everything down to 80% once I'm done. Hope that helps

FYI Russ, Kurtzman was trained as an infantryman, but was stationed locally in the States to illustrate training manuals, posters, flyers, cartoons for the papers, etc. Edit: I guess Randy found the info later :)
