Ah yes let’s live next to a gun range and complain about gunshots. Oh lets put a dog pound next to a gun range. I’ve been to this club before with my uncle and two of the range officers were complete jerks when I brought my AR-10 complaining that “it was way to loud and distracting with the muzzle flash”. I told the guys I’ll leave but I then stated “this is a sad excuse for a range if people can’t even shoot freely even when they’re being responsible”. Now I’m glad to heave friends with a bunch of land where we can shoot freely without complaints.

Why didnt you just turn up the pressure to begin with?
@johnny0454
@johnny0454 26 күн бұрын
You need to adjust the regulator first and foremost to fix your problem.... like you eventually did. You just needed the static pressure much higher, so that the gun gets the 90 it needs, after it drops and stabilizes upon blipping the throttle. You can achieve the same thing without changing all the piping.... there is a reason the compressor is designed to go up to 175psi. Of course the stuff you did helps but isn't entirely necessary. Like I said... just crank the pressure till you get 90 at the gun during a throttle blip, who cares if it has to drop 50, 60 or whatever, just turn up the regulator till you get there at the tool. The stuff you did benefits the system by not having to work as hard, therby, improving the longevity of the compressor, but if you only occasionally use a 1/2" impact, like just for wheels every once in awhile, is it really necessary? When you can achieve the same thing temporarily by just turning the regulator way up to accommodate for whatever drop. Like I said, there is a reason the compressor is designed to go all the way up to 175psi. This is a waste of time and money unless you're a full time mechanic. How much did all those pipes, hoses, and fittings cost you? Not to mention, all your time to do it... what's that worth? Time is the one thing nobody can get back, maybe it would have been better spent on meaningful connections with loved ones.

Great Job! I have a Pro 28 Briggs very much like yours and I want to add a battery. Was wondering if an "efficient" inverter would run the 110 volt starter, i'm sure it's best to simply replace the starter with a 12v version. Battery plate looks great.

This would explain why there wasn't any other people around shooting at that range? What a joke! The last time that I went to a range the new owners there didn't allow magnum handguns because some found them too intimidating to be around. Needless to say, that owner didn't last very long in the business. Newest owner allows anything legal, so long as it's safely used.

I was always taught that the water separator needs to he as far from the compressor as possible. Mounting it directly onto your tank means the just made air is hot, and will mostly carry it's humidity straight through the filter and into your line. Bad for tools, terrible for painting !

Get rid of all of the elbows and connect the filter and regulator directly together. Better yet put your filter between the compresser head and the tank to prevent rusting of your tank. I have 3/4" piping going to my drops and use the shortest line possible from them to minimize pressure drop. This vodeo is a start, but there's a lot more you can do.

@@zomrob69 I would think the bottom plate is to empty the rifle like a modern bolt action rifle. The basic design has not changed for over 120 years. The 1903 03 Springfield was when the cartridge was made . US stole the design from the Germans. Thru out WW1 the US paid the Germans a few bucks per rifle for stealing the patent of the Mauzer rifle. How crazy is that?

The pressure regulator is always the biggest problem, should be of good quality as well as the filter and other parts. 1/2" on all components means that the feed is enough for all machines. The quick couplings make a big difference choose Cejn 320 series for best flow and wear resistance (hardened steel nipples). In some applications it is economical to let the compressor handle the pressure and remove the pressure regulator .

Consider mounting the filter and regulator on the wall...get rid of the multiple elbows, spaghetti piping, etc so the air is a straight shot through the filter/reg. Just run a short length of hose from the compressor to the filter inlet. All those twists and turns with the elbow are contributing to your pressure losses.

This is Great !! Now, For those of us that are rural, or on farms, that have really loong driveways or lane ways ( > 200' long ): --- what about adding a battery circuit to the Electric Start for the Ariens Snow Blowers ? ( May have to swap out the 120V electric starter motor for a 12V motor ? ) Or be able to use a Battery / Inverter to plug into the 120V electric starter motor receptacle ? Or a dual-use switch, allowing either an electric cord Or a 12V battery for the electric starter ??

There are other reasons pneumatic is preferred, if your doing a lot of work that requires non stop gun usage, a battery won't hold up all day like a compressor will. Even a second battery won't at times, so you would need a third in some circumstances which is costly. Yes there is advantages to the portability of the electric, but not everyone has all the electric tools needed to do several jobs, and they have aquired all these different air tools over the years. There are some small pneumatic tools that will fit in confined areas that a big bulky batter driven tool won't. When you have/buy/rent a shop thats already equipped and set up with air, your not going to remove all that stuff because there are other tools that use the air such as oil pumps, blow guns, cutters, grinders, all of which are different tools and you'd have to buy each separately for specialty stuff. I guess my point is the pneumatic stuff has been phased out, but some have to make the best with what they already have, and this is often air, so videos like this help people improve the set up they have in their garage/shops.

Your video came across my recommended feed, as I am having issues with my compressor keeping up with my tools I was curious and watched. Really informative and helpful however I only see one issue which leads me to ask, ...........instead of using all that piping, would it not be better to just screw in the small straight piece of pipe in the connection of the compressor, then and add the water trap then your fitting/hose? No need for all the weight of that pipe and all those bends, also even though you have an inline water trap you still need to drain the water from your air tank regularly. So now I will do away with my 3/8 hose and 1/4 fittings and up size to 1/2". Thanks for the video.
