Hey camera man, are you shure you don't have Shaking Hand Syndrom? You ruin the entire video, simply never keeping that thing stable. You shake, you move, you are dancing, no idea why. Most disturbing.

I learned fly gliders at CFD Mountainview in southern Ontario in 1974 and one of the instructors was Capt. Aleksander Rokiticki. He was a Spit pilot in the 303. He was instrumental in setting up the gliding program for the Royal Canadian Air Cadet and trained so many cadets! I can still see him in my mind, flying the L19 Birddog towplane, I swear he thought he was back in the Spit! I learned of his passing a few years ago and I am sure he is up there soaring somewhere!

Currently the going rate for an aircraft in this sort of condition, is roughly £2m. The merlin engine appears to be in situ, and who knows, the full interior with instruments might also be in tact. Fancy having a Spitfire in your garden, obviously the owner wasn't short of a few quid. On the other hand, if its a fibreglass replica, its a damn convincing one.

Most of the British pilots during the battle of Britain were virtually straight out od school and had a minimum of training. The Poles were properly trained fighter pilots who had already put up a fierce resistance in planes which could not match their enemy. They made the most of the new opportunity. The abandonment of Poland at the end of the war was a political and human disgrace. However Britain was exhausted, deep in debt and unable to challenge the Russian take-over, plus we had a socialist government immediately after the war. It would have been a disaster. It is worth remembering that the U.S. largely controlled us even then. They used the lease lend agreement to keep us poor and under the thumb, including pressure on our aircraft industry and making us the potential First Target during the cold war.

JUNE 2024 Just a beautiful sight to see, but the POLISH Squadron did a splendid contribution to the UK during WW2, just a shame our UK GOVERNMENT of the time, couldn't or didn't want to stop the Iron Curtain engulfing Poland though. 🇬🇧Ⓜ️🇬🇧😔😔😔😔😔

I can"t believe a Spifire Mk. IX could be sitting unnoticed (?) in a back garden for nearly eighty (?) years. It looks reasonably well preserved, so what happens/happened to it? Has noone been curious enough to wonder? I do.

303 flew Hurricanes, not Spitfires. They had the highest kill / loss ratio of any squadron in the BoB. This was because they were very experienced pilots (unlike most of the BoB pilots) and they knew to open fire at very close range to get a hit. They had a British commander who looked after them and let them just get on with it,. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No._303_Squadron_RAF 302 were also good, but not as feted.

Hi Tracy, i was put off for years and ive now been 3 times. i can honestly say, it has something for everyone. Fantastic beach, amazing entertainment (spoilt for choice) a fantastic old town which is walkable from the new town (around 20mins). Weekends in the new town is hectic, and lots of stags and hens, however if you want to avoid that there are 100s of bars on the sea front and just outside the nighlife area. We went as a family with my 3 year old and would happily take him again
