Great videos indeed. So interesting to see how it was made. Never got to see it unfortunately. I presume they made a video of the actual show. I'd love to see that. Duncan Preston had an extraordinary voice didn't he? It's so sad to know that Victoria has passed since then. Such a wonderful talent and wonderful person. So many people must have been devastated at her loss, not least her long time partner and friend, Julie.

I have been thinking that Meghan Trainor reminds me of someone… I think it might be Victoria Wood?

As Victoria was in on the editing of this doc, she is hardly in it. Wish a release of all that was filmed was in the works. Same with 'Eric and Ernie' and 'That Day We Sang'--Victoria really cut heavily when it came to showcasing herself.

I rewatch everything Victoria created/appeared in whenever possible. She is a timeless visionary, and the cast she gathered for her creations is exemplary.

Come back, Victoria! We are bereft without your grace and levity, and so missing your beautiful face.

In all honesty, if I'd have gone to see this and Victoria Wood or the understudy had come on as Mrs.Overall, I'd have been gutted.

Dawn French talked about this in Victoria Wood's authorised biography, "Let's do it". She echoed what a lot of others who worked with Victoria said - that Victoria could be very difficult to work with (and sometimes socially too). She also said that she felt like an imposter in this sketch and that she was somehow stealing the role from someone like Julie Walters.

When I look at hr stuff and internal communications I always automatically think of Celia Imrie in this lol lol. Such a great satire of that field! One of my favourite shows! 'Ppl chained themselves to railings for their rights. What's those things that are like cucumbers? Suffragettes.' 🤣🤣

This sketch should have been so much better. I love everyone involved, but there are no jokes. There isn't even much intelligence. I want to like it so much :'(

I coped very well with this by treating it as a radio documentary. Some repetition of anecdotes, but lots of new information too. I wonder how she would have continued - and whether she would have been "Damed"

They were. Not close friends. She was not part of Victoria's inner circle in her final years but they did hold great affection for each other. More like a very close, long term colleague, I would suggest. The recent biography suggests they didn't really meet much socially
