I see a lot of scrum leads asking for functional user stories to be written for extremely technical epics with no end user interaction. Such as: receiving a message from a third party when the schema is already complete and agreed. All of the tasks are technical in nature, but they argued that they're all functional. It was mainly to come up with the architecture around how the message would be received and processed into the system, with no view/update to the end user. As far as they were concerned this was just happening 'in the background'. There was a separate EPIC to work on the screen display and CRUD of these messages. Would you agree this is where we should use technical stories, not functional user stories? It made no sense to me having to write "as a user I want to validate the incoming message" - that's not a user function. I don't know, I feel like people have very different understandings of functionality. Developers seem to think if it does ANYTHING it's functional.
@REALTIMETRAININGBA2 ай бұрын
Yes. Those must be technical user stories. If a story has to be functional there must be human interaction. We are adding a drop down that users will come and interact with. Or a donut chart that shows various parameters. These must be functional stories . Technical stories will be - if the revenue goes below $X then email is sent to the executive . No human interaction and there is an action .

"Technical" user stories are rarely (if ever) a good thing. They remove the context of the user and why the story is valuable to the user. For this scenario, a functional user story from the Customer, Customer Service or both personas would be good to cover it end to end. As a customer I want to provide a reason for unhelpful package tracking information So that I customer service is better able to understand my concern and make improvements. As a customer service representative I want to view the reason a customer found our package tracking information unhelpful So that I am able to understand the customer's concerns and make improvements.

Bro Just have a Doubt.. As a BA do we need to provide details should come in the Contact informations, email and address as well in the FRD?
@REALTIMETRAININGBA11 ай бұрын
Yes. FRD is more like the System requirements document. Display text related content must be displayed in the FRD or System Requirements document, so that the developers can see and code. Note: FRD and Functional requirements that I have covered are two different things.

Hi. Your back story resonates with mine. I got fired in 2months in my first project. Are you currently working full time or as a C2C arrangement. I am looking for BA roles in C2C and wondering what companies specialize in BA roles. I have to do H1 transfer!
@REALTIMETRAININGBA Жыл бұрын
Many consultancies will hire you. C2C is easy to get in. When it comes to C2C no one really specializes in anything. It’s up to us to get trained and be project ready. Our work is with the client and the employer runs the payroll, that’s about it. So I’ll recommend become project ready and get into a company which runs payroll and well and doesn’t mess that up.
@ROHIT87063 Жыл бұрын
@@REALTIMETRAININGBA Thank you for the reply. I am preparing for the BA role and am 50 % confident. I can say that by going through various job descriptions. I feel confident about the general BA duties like scope and vision do ument, req gathering, FRD, elicitation techniques, prototyping, project planning, uat etc. However I am getting stumped when I see any duties related to domain specific. Is it ok to lie in tge resumw related to domain specific items as I feel most of the positions in Dice which are C2C are pretty difficult roles with each job throwing something different at me which in turn makes me to lose confidence even though how much I prepare
