What the fuck are you talking about? Dude? A lot of people have endocarditis the symptoms. Present is a bad flu. You don’t go to the hospital for a bad flu. If I go to the hospital with symptoms with a bad flu, they’re gonna send me home telling me I have the flu I lived it. Only when my fingers turned to purple I returned to the hospital and I literally couldn’t wait for the cultures. I was immediately started on IV antibiotics.

I am impressed with the idea and couple of jokes on start makes me laugh )) I foresee that next step is just to hae ultrasound portable scanner at home. In urgent situations it would speedup diagnostics. Having ultrasound at home may switch from healing to diagnostics and profilactics.

2nd time survivor of sepsis; my energy, breathing and heart rate are erratic now. I have a chronic migraine so my neurologist is treating me. I have no resource for what to expect or what is going to be my new normal! No one in the fine medical establishment’s specializes in survivors’ needs. It’s a desert for us.

1:10 for me, no, I’m over a year and a half post severe sepsis, and I spent 3.5 weeks in the ICU total of 5 weeks in the hospital and a total of 9 weeks on IV Vancomycin, dry gangrene nerve damage in feet and hands, my sepsis was from MRSA-pneumonia, I lost a couple toes, people act like I got off easy but I’m still not even at 50% , I still need another iron infusion because the severity of my sepsis damaged my DNA mitochondria and my body no longer does it’s job correctly. I get dead exhausted so early, I’m due for a stress test next week because I’ve got the stamina of a 95yo and I’m only 54 😭

This is video is old, however, i have seen a more recent version with double blond testing. It seem Epi and bi-carb reduce life outcomes by 60 percent. Even worse in Children. The 1mg in adults was based on 1md given to a 10kg dog. I hope they change the protocols soon. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2GofJx9gLudY5I

I had sepsis and endocarditis. My ICD defibrillator was infected and had to be removed and a new one replaced after 5 weeks when the infection was beaten with 2 grams of intravenous flucloxacillin every 4 hours. 1 month post discharge I have severe fatigue, joint and muscle pain, weakness, persistent cough, wheezing, fatigue, anxiety, depression. All I want to do is sleep. I am 90 kilos instead of 105. It is a constant worry that I will get the infections again and I won't survive it next time -

Jim, I just watched this 3 year old video due to my lack of confidence in adrenaline. We are still lacking data that turns conventional practice towards new processes. Intra-aortic catheter for delivery seems like a no brainer. I sure hope larger institutions wake up and pay attention. This needs to be put in place within our educational institutions

I am an auto mechanic and can relate to many of the things he is discussing. Confirmation Bias is a real thing and will occur when under threat or stress. It will lead you to believe things that aren't true and ignore facts right in your face. Prognostication is what educated people call guessing. I am a good guesser. I have had a lot of positive outcomes. It is the times that I lose a patient that I learn the most from. Then there is lock-step diagnosis where you are so consumed with your process you don't even consider that your process might be flawed. Even well established industry standards are often found to be lacking. Misfire B at idle? Found out the exhaust valve clearance had gone negative due to valve stem elongation. Other shops wanted to sell them a motor, I fixed it by covering the basics, going a step beyond what other people were willing to do. I was in the Army a long time ago and was a combat lifesaver. Even now I am ready to asses and treat a casualty. Cliff's speech is inspiring.

I had severe sepsis in January 2023. Spent 80 days in hospital. I had 2 spinal surgeries cuz sepsis was in my bones. I had open heart surgery and needed a new mechanical aortic heart valve. My old valve was attached by 20% sutures. I had my aortic root and mitral valve repaired. I had no BP in er and was in multi organ failure. I survived and was told I'm a miracle. Sepsis took my rn career from me and so much more. I said the old me died and a new me left the hospital. I was dependent on all ADLs. 6mths rehab. I'm 16mths s/p sepsis. I now have post Sepsis syndrome. My memory is not good. I now have macular degeneration from sepsis. I have severe osteoarthritis everywhere. I had my 3rd back surgery too. Now I have a consult for my left shoulder pain and limitation. Xray reveals necrotic humerus head with severe deformities from impaired blood flow from sepsis. I would love to join you on stage when you do sepsis presentations. I believe my reason of being here is to spread sepsis awareness, but unsure I can do this by myself. I enjoyed your video and cried too. Thank you for your presentation.

This high speed motor vehicle crash (car versus 400 kilovolt high voltage electricity pole at 85 kilometres per hour) caused the electric pole to topple over my Alpine Tudor farmhouse in Belleville Sur Loire (central France). That high speed motor vehicle crash caused the Belleville nuclear power plant (the twelfth largest operating nuclear power plant in France) to shut down, cutting off electricity to 2335000 French people and caused me 2275000 euros in damage to my Alpine Tudor mansion (the pole destroyed the roof and an electric arc from the power lines set my attic on fire). I got scared of getting a deadly electric shock since the power cables fell into my saltwater pool! It caused me PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder)

When I was discharged from the hospital after being treated for sepsis, I never knew what to expect afterwards. The recovery and lasting effects are unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. Patients need to be educated about the possible residual effects.

Exactly, I was discharged from the hospital only a week ago and my family is already wondering when I’m going back to work and they think I’m lazy because some days I feel too weak to walk. This is a very serious thing and recovery could take weeks or months.

My husband just got off ECMO today 6/18/24 , he was on it for 4 days. His chance of survival without it was slim. We will take out chances on the future outcome , vs not having one at all.
