This is a delusional take guys. Let’s be realistic here. The haul needed to even start talking about moving a YOUNG top 5-8 QB in the league is crazy. And why would the chargers move on from their franchise guy.

Maybe Herbert wants out.... they're going to be significantly worse next year with the salary dumps they have to Herbert hasn't won there. Bears are on the rise.

I’m not saying Caleb is that DUDE but maybe the chargers think so. I’d prefer the known NFL talent of Herbert at a premium price point.

Dream on. Justin Herbert's contract is untradeable and would result in a $89,158,325 cap hit for the Chargers meaning they would be $123,845,261 over the cap in 2024.

Too many number... I think the Bears would just assume Herbet's current contract and that would mean the Chargers would not have to worry about the situation you brought up.

NFL contracts don't work that way. The Bears would assume the contract but the prorated $89 million in bonus money that Herbert got at signing stays with the Chargers no matter what resulting in a 89 million cap hit in 2024. Herbert is both untradeable and uncuttable in 2024 & 2025 @@Jesse_Jets

Why don't we just keep Fields and load up on draft capital with a new staff?? Go the way of San Fran, Chiefs, Eagles and build a loaded team first before dropping a new QB in?? I agree with adding a later round QB. Penix, Daniel, Brady Cook
