Is muscle atrophy a possible symptom of rabdomyolysis?
@beyondfitrd4 ай бұрын
Yes and furthermore loss of skeletal muscle leads directly to increased insulin resistance which is why statin users frequently develop type2 diabetes. If the side effects risks were disclosed honestly along with the absolute odds of avoiding cardiovascular events most people would pass.

I had two coronary stents placed just over a year ago. I was on DAPT which included baby aspirin and Prasugrel. One year later, I am being switched to Clopidogrel alone, even though my cardiologist is aware I am a genetically poor metabolizer of this medicine. He insisted I was still receiving benefit from Clopidogrel. I asked if I could switch back to Prasugrel alone. He finally agreed but seemed reluctant. I believe I made the correct decision for myself. What are your thoughts?

Where might I find info for a patient on Invega trinza (paliperidone) for safety of breastfeeding. It is VERY important to her to breastfeed… and she was NOT counseled on this aspect unfortunately. Unfair.

Hello, Thank you for this video it was highly informative! Would you be able to reccomend any specific questions to ask when interviewing a pharmacist in order to get the best of the opportunity?
@oliviabuncher66933 жыл бұрын
Hi Mazvita, sorry we missed this question! Here are some example questions to ask: What do you enjoy most about your role? What do you enjoy least about your role? How much patient interaction do you have? Do you work with other healthcare providers? What does a typical day look like for you? What do you think are the biggest challenges facing pharmacy? What advice would you give to someone considering pharmacy?

I cannot love this enough. thank you for making this video. As an outreach coordinator for our MTM group, I often need to be able to explain to patients why having a medication review is being recommended. I love it when I hear back that they are so happy that they met with my PharmD. This brings all those warm fuzzies to me just like that!

Double same. I feel like at every turn no matter what I want to to do in medicine there is always some bad news that is just around the corner like either its very saturated, a ton of debt or incredibly hard to raise a family while practicing. Good luck to you.

jeff mezzone go MD. you work 50 hours + per week and on call 24/7. go pharmD. saturated. go nursing...shit you get soooo over worked you freaken hate your job but jist going cause get paid. go PA. not true doctor. go dental...hate staring at ugly teeth. truth is healthcare is not the most rewarding job regard to overall satisfaction. they pay is there but the flexibility and comfortability is not. then you choose to phd for research come out no job cause research is horrible in the industry. you want to go academia but position is not available and yoj become a assisting professor from school to school getting pay little. life is hard and horrible. just have to be a entrepreneur. pharmacy is expanding its focus widely now days. the saturation is high but provider status and clinical will help it a small bit. just need to shit down some these new dumb private school that keep opening new programs. lile dont aapc regulate these stuff. smh

What about medical laboratory scientist? To my knowledge you can get a job with a bachelor's and you just run diagnostic tests in the medical lab. Of course, you don't get as much patient contact because you mainly hang out in the lab and there is not much room for promotion. Of course I have also heard complaints that the other medical professionals have no idea what the job actually entails so they may think you can run a diagnostic test instantaneously. This is mainly because they don't go down to the lab during their training to see what the laboratory scientists actually do.

On the pharmacy note, not only is the job market saturated, but residencies are super hard to come by. More and more hospitals seem to want a residency from hospital pharmacists, but there are not enough residencies to go around. Even academic super stars can have a hard time.
