This is the way I remember it the most. I lived off Trabue at the time.

Trey, I enjoyed your video of the Potomac Eagle especially the engine coupling to the tourist cars consist . Also the train crossing US-50 and the railroads repair shop at that intersection. My wife and I have ridden The Eagle 3 times over the past 15 years. Plus my wife's father grew up in Keyser, WV , so we have traveled over US-50 pass that intersection many times on our way from our home in the Shenandoah Valley. to visit her relatives in that part of WV. Hope you get a chance to actually ride The Eagle some day. The trip through the "Trough where eagles fly" is always amazing. I enjoyed the rest of the video at Belington, BUT those are NOT pictures of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. You took pictures of the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad Tygert Flyer Tourist Train returning to their shops at Belington, WV. Most of the equipment there belongs to the DGVRR or the WV Rail Road Museum (WVRRM).. I believe the Western Maryland Railway (WM) FA #303 in your still photo is owned by the Western Maryland Railway Historical Society but is on lease to the WVRRM to restore it to operating condition. Given all the WM RR locos and other equipment you saw in Belington, I can see how you may have mistaken this operation for the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad (which actually operates out of Cumberland, MD) . The reason for all the WM equipment on the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad and the WSVRRM.is the area they operate in was at one time a major division of the WM Rwy. And they have a passion for preserving this rich railroad history. Again, if you ever get back to that part of WV and Maryland you really should ride all three tourist rail lines. I've done them all more than once. In fact we rode the Maryland Scenic back in October from Cumberland to Frostburg and back. It was as always a fantastic trip with stations at both ends and loco turntable action at Frostburg. We will likely plan trips on all of them in the future. But then I'm only a few hours away from all three. Best wishes for a Happy New Year.
