For a game that was essentially a squad-based Halo clone with a Star Wars skin, it was a pretty good game. It was very challenging at many points throughout the story and had solid gunplay.

Honestly, this is one of the game genres I gotta work on myself 😭 fighting games and shooters I got you but I’m pretty bad at racers. The biggest thing for me was trying out the cars to see which was easier to handle and using my brakes “lighter” than I did in the beginning. Started off hard braking every corner.

😂😂 fair fair. It was all I had back in the day, so it served its purpose but definitely some better titles on PS2 (and later on for sure.) MVP 06 NCAA was my favorite baseball title & amazing soundtrack.

Are you crazy? This game was awesome! The AI was weak, so I was able to go 160-2 in my season and Jermaine Dye had over 600 homeruns, but still, awesome graphics, better than The Show today.

@TommyD1213 not gonna lie I’ve always struggled making it through baseball games (mainly into football) even though I played irl for 11 years 😅 but I remember the graphics being pretty good for the time and the gameplay was solid. Just wish batting wasn’t so hard but it makes sense.

I used to love this game. The graphics were unreal at the time. The only issue I had was not being able to play defense. Then 2k2 came out and it was a massive downgrade on the graphics but the gameplay was good

Heard the Japanese version had online multiplayer. Man that would have been great to play online! Also you can download saved from a Japanese version of the game or even arcade version of the game using VMU saves and the characters despite being the same are very different. You can also do this with the arcade version being characters that aren’t available in arcade like Gatekeeper and many others to the arcade version of the game! Just goes to show how ahead of its time it really was!

Fzero is definitely a racer that will beat your ass for a good while just cause of how movement works GameCube is the one I grew up with I only recently got a ps2 and never owned a Dreamcast

@lebbanator haha you’re totally right about the challenge of movement in this game… but I can see how it opens up the game to a lot of technique. When I finally caught on to the drifting it was an awesome moment. It’s a lot of fun playing some of these games nowadays. You should totally check out some of the Dreamcast exclusives.

As much as I love this game's design, the combat itself does not feel like boxing, nor does it feel like Hajime no Ippo's boxing Punch spamming (which for some reason is how you parry) and only having counter-punching as a viable strategy? Not even a guard button when the main character''s whole boxing style is based on defense?

Was starting to notice this as I got deeper into the game. It’s effectively a sock n boppers game with anime characters haha. The ps3 version is a lot better imo, but still suffers from a lot of the Arcady styling you mention.
