These birds seem very calm and act like they do not move very much at all. I am interested in getting one and would like to know more. Are these a lot less playful than a normal budgie?

@@dwalker4485 Bourkes and Turquoisines are birds that like to fly a lot more than to play. So if you ever want to have such a bird, try to give them a large cage were they can fly in of give them time outside the cage to fly in a room. The Bourkes are the most active during the early morning hours and in the afternoon. The Bourkes and Turquoisines (when not handtamed or raised by humans) do not always interact a lot with humans. They prefer to interact with birds of the same spiecies. I hope this helped you a little bit. Try to watch my video's to learn more about them and how they live.

Thank you for all of your amazing videos! I play them all the time for the Bourke we were given by a friend. Her original cage mate and the male our friend had bonded, so they were not too kind to her. She still loves the pretty songs even if she is timid of everything. We’ve been working on her confidence; it seems like between the videos and patience, she’s been blooming beautifully. I was used to Lovebirds; the difference in attitude! Thank you again! 😊

Hi, I don't know if Bourkes are better behaved than Budgies. What I do know is that they are not as playfull as budgies and do not like to be pet or touched by hands. Bourkes are most active in the early morning and evening. Their sounds are very different from budgies. I think budgies "screem" more and Bourkes do not screem a lot they make beautiful sooting sounds. I hope this anwsers your question😃

I picked (and cleaned) wild barnyardgrass. Do you know that kind of grass. It is very easy to cultivate in your own garden. It grows very fast and birds love it. If you pick it out of the wild, always pay attention to not pick the low growing grass because dogs could have peed to it and that is very toxic for birds. Always wash the wild picked barnyardgrass.
