The 10 cmds written on stone were given to Israel, therefore the person in Mat 19;17-19 should obey these, as a OT Jew. Christians after the cross have the spiritual Royal Law of Christ which is written in the New Testament for us, and revealed by the Holy Spirit, Who also gives us power to remember & keep those 1400+ commandments (imperative moods of the NT) No longer on stone, but the fleshy tables of our hearts! Anyone who has read Hebrews can see it wa Paul who wrote it.

All of the debate and speculation over the authorship of Hebrews is assanine. Paul's name is all over it. If you compare Hebrews to his other epistles you will see how similar it is. The same subjects, the same expressions (e.g. "The just shall live by faith". Hebrews, Romans and Galations) the same illustrations, (Israel in the wilderness, milk and meat, a race, soil, etc.) He talks about being in prison like he did in his other letters and refers to Timothy as our brother as he did in his other letters. The list goes on. So, why these so called scholars act like it is a mystery is beyond me.

I know that many don't view receiving, or being indwlet with, the Holy Spirit as regeneration as I do, but there are other passages that can be appealed to in order to show that having one's heart cleansed and receiving life occur after, or through, belief not prior (Acts 15:9, John 20:31). However, Ezekiel 36:26-27 (cf. Ezek 11:19-20), which is generally understood to deal with regeneration, describes regeneration by stating that God’s Spirit not only renews the heart but also takes up residence in individuals. And according to many passages of Scripture one must believe in order to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (John 7:37-39; Acts 2:38; Gal 3:2; Eph 1:13-14). Additionally, there are no explicit or clear texts that teach that one is given life to believe.

They rejected Paul and were congratulated for it.
