Thank you for sharing something so personal. My son has the same seizures in the car! He has just been diagnosed with the same syndrome, it took us a year to find someone that could tell what was going on. This is helpful.

Is it possible to give an update? How is your son doing, hope he has no episodes anymore? Why I am asking, my son has panayiotopoulos-syndrom just 2 weeks ago he had his first episode and so far the last one and just looking for information online, maybe not the best idea I know. Thank you and all the best

Hi so glad to hear he’s seizure free for four years 🎉 that became a hope for me . I have 2.5 year old son and getting through the same thing. He had 5 episode total in 10 months. Doctors advice medication but I don’t wanna give him because of side effects. He is always in front of my eyes and his seizures lasts at most 7 mins and just staring like him and vomiting then sleeping right after seizure then he comes back to normal. So my question is did he use any seizure medication during that time or it just went away. How often he was having the seizures? Sorry too many questions 😞thanks for this video btw this the only one on KZbin that helped me to figure out what my son going through appreciate for sharing 🙏

I was diagnosed with this at the age of 3 and the seizures stopped at the age of 9/10 but I remember always waking up in the hospital and just already knowing why I’m here. I’m now 14 and I’m still kinda scared if they would ever come back even though there’s a low chance they will but still it’s scary and to be honest it’s hard to think that I used to have epilepsies like 5 years ago but I’m doing fine now and I hope ur son is doing alright aswell

Hi, my son had his first episode right after waking up in the morning, april 2020… He was 3 years old at this time. He was sitting his eyes on one side, totally lost, pale than started stiffness, difficulty breathing. I though he is dying. We took him to the hospital and that’s when I was told its childhood epilepsy. I did my own research since it was so unusual and I came across this video. We put him on oxcarbazepine in October after his second episode which was scary again since it lasted so long. His med has been effective, 300 mg trileptal (oxcarbazepine) day, 450 mg at night. He still has moments of attack but they are very brief. It happens once in every 2 or three months. Im here just for one advice! Whatever you do pls just dont stop the med suddenly, I did just that a week ago and I am now right beside him at the hospital, waiting for him to wake up after his worst episode ever, vomiting, pooping, low oxygen, it lasted for a whole hour and a half! I pray to God and hope he grows out of this. Its a terrible condition and very difficult for the parents! Blessing to you all

Wishing your son best recovery 🙏.. My daughter just had this episode during her sleep for the 3rd time.. her first was in oct 2021, april 2022 then now june 2022.. when it started she was a bit conscious, like talking to me, replying to my questions as if she was hypnotised. Doctors are unable to get what it is exactly.. but just came to this video and your comment. she has bever been prescribed any medicine. Today too, she has been referred to another doctor, we will go by evening.. It was painful to watch her vomiting and then jerking followed by crying.. I wish i could make her feel better 😞.. she was born in april 2020..

@@nadiaanwar2701 Hi Nadia, Hi, I wish your daughter all the best. how is she now? My daughter was diagnosed when she was 3 but we just started meds (Lamctal) now she is 5 and a half because her episodes are more frequent now. I am so scared of all the negative side effects of antiepileptic meds. I am always looking for a trigger or pattern for her episodes but nothing each time she has a different thing, she had a total of 7 episodes in the span of 3 years. Do you have any answer of any kind regarding the cause or the triggers?

We just discovered that our 4 year daughter has the same syndrome, i have not slept in 3 days, I’m afraid she might have a seizure during her sleep. Do they happen often in your case? How are you treating it and what would be your advice? God Bless all babies in this condition ❤️
@JasonRefsland3 жыл бұрын
We did not have that happen in his sleep. We had a neurological sleep study done to make sure. He grew out of it like most kids do around age 7. But it is scary. Hang in there!

My daughter had this happen last weekend. Her pupils dilated, drooling, pale, and unresponsive with eyes open. Thank you for sharing because I had no idea what was happening. @@frendo1716 I did not. I went through this back in the 70s when the condition was first being studied and didn't have an actual name yet. We just managed symptoms with nausea medications, hydration, and I would always sleep a lot after an episode.
