Talk about timing. I just recently did a High Key style shoot last week and I am working on the photos right now. I had the three lights, but for the ones on the background, they didn't have V-Flats to shoot into. I had to shoot them directly at the backdrop with a piece of cardboard I colored black to cut the light so I didn't get spill on my model. Thing is, it was about 90-93 percent effective, lol. So it all works out. Anoth great video and I will be coming back to learn your photoshop technique, properly. :)

this still seems like a lot of work for post, if you were to submit thousands of shots to the client, you would actually to do all this work for each photo? I doubt that would really be your workflow, surely you would get it down in camera, no?

I love your videos, but I'm listening to it with double automatic in Spanish. It's totally disastrous but funny. It's crazy to listen to the automatic dubbing

It’s hard to believe how meticulous you have to be to create a pure white background. Sir your slight movements of lights, V- flats, and tiny exposure adjustments show your skill as a true master of the art.

So, carefully balancing background light should be beginning. That negative fill, with black boards makes a lot of difference. Thank you for sharing this level with us. Fantastic video!

That was a masterclass at every level, and perhaps my fav shoot with Anna, her modelling was next level, so natural and elegant, and it showed in each and every shot Peter made of her, good gosh. I've no idea how you would make a selection of the best images from a shoot like that!

Beautiful video, very educational, congratulations. I had a doubt or maybe it could be a suggestion at the same time lol. In the editing part, wouldn't there be a way to do this underexposure and overexposure with the layer tool, selecting the model and inverting it and then just painting without "damaging" the model?

Have shoot saturday they want high key. Dont have a v bank but will see if two strip lights pointed inward can do the same. Maybe a clamshell lighting style for the model in the front. Thank you!
@PeterCoulsonPhotographer18 сағат бұрын
strip lights are no good for lighting a big area, you'll be better off using softboxes. hope the shoot goes well
@camcappe35318 сағат бұрын
@ ok ! Great what if I place a bare bulb with barn doors? Appreciate your input, my softboxes are medium to small. I have one XL softbox though as big as a tent.

I remember doing a photo workshop once, and a couple of the other male photographers seemed a bit loud and brash, but I thought it came across as a bit pervy. It certainly made me feel uncomfortable, so I can only imagine what the model felt like.

I'm really curious if you don't mind me asking... for a photoshoot like this, why do you need a tripod and a laptop screen? To me it would feel very limiting and would slow me down.
@PeterCoulsonPhotographer22 сағат бұрын
Because with the tripod I can set my crop and don't to concentrate on reframing, I can just concentrate on capturing the image. And the laptop is so I can tether, I usually always tether so I can see what I'm creating on a larger screen and also when we are filming I can screenrecord so the audience can see the images in real time
