You really should listen to the intro track of this album as it serves as the intro to this song.

Superb album - this one and Tangram (1980) were the first ones I heard with them and both left a deep impression. The extended sequencer keyboards/guitar jam that takes up most of Ri-2 is a groundbreaking, bold effort that stands up even today, it has that feeling of driving through a night landscape, or a vast heavy industrial city, at night. I was struck early on by the similarity between these lightning-fast, rhythmic keyboard runs and traditional Gamelan music (from Bali and Java) and it still seems a valid comparison to me. The polyrhythmic elegance and the harmonic shifts are just mesmerizing, and they would keep on exploring this on later albums.

Seeing the emotion in your eyes as a young boy is something that honors you, think that I, who am 71 years old, am here and I am counting the tears on my face after seeing the video. The miracle of this is Sharon's voice and performance which is pure magic. Be well kid and keep up the good work.

I love Sharon, she's pure feeling and it's incredible how clean and brilliant her singing is when she changes the register from medium to high. If you haven't had any school that brought you to this level, you have a great natural talent.

When Tangerine dream released the 1980 album Tangram I heard it on the local radio station never hearing Tangerine dream before. It was snowing large snowflakes, a perfect setting for the intro on the album Tangram. From that moment on I was hooked on Tangerine dream and now have almost all their albums.

I would not aply this kind of effect to the whole song. Synth pad and rythm guitar would benefit from this, because it would make some more movement, no need for fireworks.

I’m late to this, but thanks for this reaction. I only know at least 10 words in Japanese but hearing Puzzle and Anemone made me tear up, these ladies vocals just tugged at my heartstrings. They just convey so much emotion and passion to this song that it transcends language barriers.

For context, this song is part of a Remedy game (Finnish game developer behind Max Payne 1&2, Control, Quantum Break) Alan Wake, a paranormal thriller and action game, where Alan, a fiction writer, loses his wife to some dark force or entity in the woods and starts searching for his wife and trying to solve the mystery. The man in the video is Finnish actor and former theater director Ilkka Villi, who gave his face and movements, but not the voice, to Alan Wake, the main character that the player controls. The obstacles Alan faces in the game are people possessed by the dark force and large objects, even cars, thrown at him by the force. Alan can weaken the force and defeat the foes using light, a flashlight, flare gun, etc, using flashlight to weaken a foe before he can finish it with a pistol, or using a flare for instant elimination. There's quite a lot of storytelling and characters inspired by the works of Stephen King and David Lynch's TV show Twin Peaks and the story is told in episodic format, similat to a TV show, with the next part quickly recapping what happened in the previous episode. Poets of the Fall has done several songs to the game, even posing as Old Gods of Ascard, an traditional style Heavy Metal band. Alan meets 2 members of the band, two old rockers, in the mental asylum he is locked in at 8ne part of the game and it seems the same forces that took Alan's wife, have also inspired the band's music. The force can both inspire imagination and make works of imagination manifeat in the real world. Think of something like Solaris meets Stephen King's IT. Later in the game, Alan and his manager even use the band's stage equipment, pyrotechnics and stage lights to fight a full scale attack of the dark force, with an "Old Gods of Asgard" (Poets of the Fall) song playing on the sound system. In a DLC to Remedy game Control, the world of the game is tied to Alan Wake and "Old Gods of Asgard" provide more music, while Poets of the Fall also appears on the OST with their own name. Markus Kaarlonen, AKA Captain, the Music Producer, keyboard player and Co-songwriter of the band, used to be in the computer demo scene, making MOD music (computer music files that have both the note data and instrument samples in the same file) and Remedy was also started by people in the scene. Markus was working for Remedy's then sister company Futuremark, which was making 3D tech demo / performance testing software, which lead to Poets of the Fall making music for them, with Markus producing, which eventually lead to Markus joining the band. When Sami Järvi, AKA Sam Lake (järvi = a lake), a friend of Markus and main story writer of Remedy games and also, the original face of Max Payne from the first game, wanted Poets of the Fall to turn his poem "A Late Goodbye" into a theme song for Max Payne 2, Poets became a constant collaborator to Remedy game studio.

Saiki asked Kanami to write a ballad for her. This is the brilliant result. Who knows what emotions the scruffy little genius felt writing and now playing this but it is superb on so many levels including a brilliant solo - one of her best. As usual Band Maid exceeds excellent. Bless them.
