Thanks for the great pattern reviews Judi. I do love a Raglan and have made several Toasters and Lindens. I just bought the Drew Pattern. I’m looking forward to making that and good to know that it is pretty oversized. I think the Toaster may still be your favorite though 😉😃 hope you’re feeling much better now.❤

I love the embroidery. It's a fun way to remember the year. We won't have snow drops for a few months where i live in Canada. We are still having drops of snow! Well, actually today, snow and freezing rain! I think you are going to make the shorter toaster. I have it downloaded. I just need to print and tape it together. I do have a question about the stretch thread from a friend. Neither one of us has used it yet. She wondered if you use it on both the bobbin and spool thread? I gave it a try yesterday, and that is how i used it. That just makes sense to me. I think all of the raglans are great, but prefer the Toaster. Although i do love the one that was quite roomy.
@runningsewandsew2 күн бұрын
Oh I remember the canadian winters ... i live there as a child. I think you are right in that I love the toaster and yes it will be a shorter one next. However, I won't be making one until I need it. I am trying not to make garments for the sake of making them. I just don't want to be wasteful xx

I think the toaster is you favourite lol. I think all jumpers have their purpose. Some have a more elevated look like the toaster. I have made it in ponte and it looks dressy. I have recently been on the ib pullover kick but it is a a woven and stretch pattern and not a raglan Great video reviews. I also have the grainline jumper, i love it for walking and exercise purposes and i have decided to not purchase any tilley patterns any more as unlike you i don’t care for their instructions or fit after trying other pattern companies. I have recently got a crew membership from closet core for a Christmas present and am really enjoying the benefits of it and i love their patterns as well. Have a great day!

I say leave the 'washed out' blocks in. I'm working through some 1980's quilting books this year ❤❤❤ and making flying geese samplers with beautiful fabric I bought 50% off. BUT I am learning they don't combine all that well due to their value not quite working? I'm still loving them because they're still beautiful and I'm learning stuff!! Trial and error all the way! 😂

Interesting vlog. I have avoided the toaster because I do not like wide funnel necks. My hair is too short to comfortably go over the top, but long enough to pool inside it. I saw Tamlyn in the xoe top, and bought the pattern straight away. I made it without any grading and it's a bit big at the top, but so cosy. I need to narrow the shoulder area next time and I have my contrast fabric ready. My fav of your 4 would be the drew followed by the Maison Fauve. I have a few of their patterns but have yet to make any. The pilar jacket is next on my list for me, but I need to make some things as a thank you first. My friends did so much for me, shopping, taking me to hospital and walking one of my dogs for weeks. So that is a must. I think it will be cosy tops for them. I am thinking that I might do the drew for them as even if you use one colour the seams create interest.

I've only started using knits and I really don't know how you buy the ribbing. I just got a couple of half metres to start. Can I give a shout out to Burton Agnes Hall's snowdrop walks? Just a complete carpet of flowers.❤

I keep being tempted to jump on the Toaster bandwagon, even though I don't normally do that sort of thing. The difference in the neck of your white one and grey one is interesting. I have made the Jarrah and I used a very unsuitable rib knit and the neck is awful and baggy. I would much prefer a neck that just stands up without being too fitted. I also quite like that Ressac. Never been tempted by Tilly and the Buttons patterns.
@runningsewandsew2 күн бұрын
Oh I think you would like the ressac, as the neck stands up and is not too fitted xx

A lovely vlog Judi. Thank you for showing the flat locking . I’m looking forward to trying it with my Acclaim. Personally I always look at the finished measurements to gauge what size I’ll go with. So many pattern designers are designing very loose & baggy garments lately & whilst they are comfy to wear I sometimes feel like they are wearing me . I prefer a neater fit . Your embroidery is so fab, a month fine already . Is it me or was January soooo long ?. ❤

Flat locking is such a great technique to use on the overlocker, thanks for sharing. I have used it years ago as a decorative stitch, using pearl cotton thread in the lower looper, it was a lovely way to give interest to the bodice of a dress made from a solid fabric. I really loved wearing that dress. Your embroidery is so creative and beautiful, fantastic way to create memories for 2025.

I love the Linden but my neckline also comes out quite open. I don't love that part of it. I have tried raising the neckline by lengthening the pattern pieces (not the neck band) but end up with some lumps and bumps at the seams on the shoulders. I must be messing with the invisible darts in those raglan seamlines and haven't had the patience to keep at it. I still wear them and probably nobody else notices, but I do... and I love the pattern enough that I really would love to crack the code! ❤ Interestingly, when making version 2: the tshirt, I love the neckline as is.
@runningsewandsew2 күн бұрын
As you will have seen in my latest vlog, I checked out the necklinme and its the design of the top, so I'm going to be very careful in how much I raise the neckline in the future x
