My Psoratic arthritis is mostly autoimmune..I have iv remicaid every 6 weeks and methotraxate weekly...my organs are always inflamed , I have very little skin problems ...my uncle has very severe Psoratic arthritis also ..he has had open heart surgery , digits removed and now multiple myeloma...and kidney failure and sadly blind ....I think the autoimmune component is the most dangerous part of the disease .,and patients are not educated enough on the autoimmune issues

It took almost 2 yrs for my sister to find the best answer for her condition. Great thing he discovered this psoriasis treatment method “Κοkοzο Wuno” (Google it). She had to make use of it daily for about a month but now she`s like basically cured and only have to use it rarely. Try this method!!! You will be so happy you did.

Plaque Psoriasis Plaque PsoriasisPlaque psoriasis is the most common form of the disease and appears as raised, red patches covered with a silvery white buildup of dead skin cells or scale. These patches or plaques most often appear on the scalp, knees, elbows and lower back. They are often itchy and painful, and they can crack and bleed. Symptoms If you develop a rash that doesn't go away with an over-the-counter medication, you should consider contacting your doctor. Your doctor will look for raised, red scales with well-defined edges, and will consider how the rash responds to medication before making a diagnosis. Plaque psoriasis is most often found on the outside of knees and elbows, the scalp, the lower back, the face, the palms and soles of feet. When biopsied, psoriasis skin looks thicker and inflamed when compared with eczema. Treatments Treatments listed below may be used alone or in combination with other treatments. Topical Treatments with and without steroids usually are the first choice in treating psoriasis. Prescription topicals slow down skin cell growth and reduce inflammation. Phototherapy involves exposing the skin to ultraviolet light on a regular basis and under medical supervision. Treatments are done in a health care provider's office or at home with a phototherapy unit. Systemic medications are prescription drugs that work throughout the body. They are used for individuals with psoriatic arthritis and those with moderate to severe psoriasis whose symptoms are unresponsive to other treatments. Systemic medications are taken orally, by injection or infusion and fall into two categories-traditional systemics and biologics. Keep in mind-no single psoriasis treatment works for everyone. Working closely with a dermatologist is key to bringing psoriasis into remission. Learn more about recent genetic discoveries about plaque psoriasis

Your skin releases chemicals when it is fully healed to tell your body to stop healing. All we gotta do is find what chemical that is, apply it topically and there's our cure.

Stelara is between 18k-33k a year..like $4300.00 per shot!! No shot of medicine in the world should cost anything like that! I bet it doesn't cost $1.00 to produce 1 shot. Why 4300? Wahat fucking justifies that kind of cost? Seriously? If more people had it would the price be lower? If it didn't have a cosmetic value would it be less? Why why why why why?

Psoriasis is not usually a progressive disease. Psoriasis varies from person to person, both in severity and how it responds to treatment. But by pursuing regular treatment and limiting your exposure to known psoriasis triggers, you can limit your risks of experiencing a psoriasis flare. Please feel free to email us with any additional questions!

While psoriasis on the hands can prove difficult to treat, there are additional options you can consider with your health care provider. If topical medications do not work, your doctor may recommend methotrexate, cyclosporine or Soriatane. These are systemic treatments which work throughout the body. You can read more about these treatments on our website. Best of luck and please feel free to contact the Foundation if we can provide additional information.

@PsoriasisFoundation I have been prescribed many cremes over the years with limited success. Ultravate worked for a while, but then regressed. Starting in Apr '05 I began receiving corticosteroid injections every 6 weeks and my condition virtually disappeared, but I stopped after 1 year due to some serious side effects attributed with this treatment. I have been on Puva for years, on and off. Is it possible for this to spread past my hands? My dermatologist says no, and I'm not reassured.

@PsoriasisFoundation Since using chemical cleaners for a job in '89 with no gloves, some of my fingernails began to grow deformed (2 on left, 3 on right) This continued long after I quit. By 2000, the skin on my left thumb started to get dry, scaly and eventually covered part of my left/right hands (bottom of some fingers/palms). Despite ongoing Puva treatments since '07, the condition is still spreading and has recently (2012) affected the tops of some fingers. Any advice. Very concerned.

i had acne my whole teenage life...i finally start getting it under control in my early 20s and then just my luck i develop psoriasis on my for head on...now its everywhere scalp mostly and but small spots all over me...i hate it...i can live with it but its annoying but what really scares me is the fact that people with one auto immune disease are more likely to develop another one..i really hope they come up with some cures or better more practical treatments
