Work there as a subcontractor for the 1984 revamp of the main hot strip mill, and as a trainee engineer in 1975. Nice place, even better when Wales won the rugby.

Nice film, but give me a break. The town was gutted in this so called modernisation and this, coupled with the decline of steel and coal, has reduced the place to a welfare dependent ghetto.

Wow, just noticed myself and the wife walking past the camera in the marquee in the cricket club. Not a grey hair in sight.😂 What is the music playing at the start and the end? I'm going nuts trying to figure out where I've heard it before.

Imagine if these people woke up and decided to get a job and sort their own lives out instead of spitting out ugly kids and relying on the council?

Interesting video and it must have taken a lot of effort to get the information/locations now, thanks for uploading. It is shame to see the old pubs and houses gone, a little updating for modern convenience was all that would have been needed and be sympathetic.
