hello so i have a question, i am 31 years old and i am looking to transition from mechanical engineering to a Business Analyst will ECBA help me getting the initial transition or how to go about it as i have no relevant experience in BA
@thecareeraccelerators23 күн бұрын
Hello Jasper! Great question. Transitioning from mechanical engineering to a Business Analyst role is definitely doable, but since you don’t have BA experience yet, I’d recommend starting with a solid boot camp. A good boot camp can help you build foundational knowledge, get hands-on practical experience, and even work on real-world projects-things employers love to see. The ECBA is a great starting point to show you’re serious about the field and have learned the basics, but on its own, it may not be enough to land your first BA job. Pairing it with practical experience from a boot camp can make a big difference. If you’d like to explore this further, feel free to book a free coaching call with one of our experts via this link: calendly.com/thecareeraccelerators/chat-with-an-expert - I’d be happy to provide some more guidance. You’ve got this! 💪

Do we need to renew the IIBA membership by paying 139 USD every year?
@thecareeracceleratorsАй бұрын
Yes, you’ll need to pay $139 USD each year (only if you are located in Region 1, for Region 2 it is $89USD and for Region 3 it is $55USD for renewal) to keep your IIBA membership active. Hope that helps! Let me know if you want more info.

Amazing video and very informative!! If I want to be a Product Manager, which certification is most valuable for an interview selection process and to grab a job?
@thecareeraccelerators3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much 🙏🏽! For Product Manager roles, certifications like Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Product School’s Product Management Certification Programs are valuable and should help you get started from a certification perspective. However, please remember that practical experience is key-so consider volunteering or joining bootcamps that focus on hands-on projects to build your skills as a Product Manager as this will significantly help you stand out in interviews and on the job. Good luck!

What is the application process how we prepare prerequisites and how we submit these stuff to IIBA
@thecareeraccelerators3 ай бұрын
The CBAP application process involves meeting the prerequisites: at least 7,500 hours of business analysis experience over the past 10 years, with 900 hours in at least 4 of the 6 BABOK knowledge areas, and 35 hours of professional development. To apply, you'll need to document your experience and training on the IIBA website. When you're ready, you can submit everything online through the IIBA portal. Be detailed about linking your experience to BABOK concepts. If you need help, we guide students through the process in our CBAP Certification Course. Hope this helps! How we can prepare application process and demonstrate the prerequisites of CBAP
@thecareeraccelerators3 ай бұрын
Great question! Your approach will depend on your years of experience and how you can demonstrate this in the CBAP application. You'll need at least 7,500 hours of business analysis experience over the past 10 years, with at least 900 hours in 4 of the 6 BABOK knowledge areas. Additionally, 35 hours of professional development in the past 4 years are required (which you can obtain by registering with an IIBA Endorsed Education Provider like us). When applying, be detailed in linking your experience to BABOK concepts. We guide our students through this process in our IIBA CBAP Certification Course. Hope this helps, and good luck!

Currently undergoing learning on Scrum & Agile (PSM). Hoping to write my exam shortly, although still scared about how possibly to answer 80 questions in 1 hour given the rigorous details. Anyone who has worn my shoes before and can help demystify my fears?
@thecareeraccelerators4 ай бұрын
Hey Esther! It’s completely normal to feel nervous before the PSM exam or any other professional exam for that matter -I’ve been there too many times! Here are some tips to help you prepare: 1. Practice Under Time Pressure: Use mock exams to get used to the 30 to 45-second pace per question. Try the practice tests here: www.scrum.org/open-assessments/scrum-open. Once you get more comfortable with the questions, you’ll be able to answer them in less than 20 seconds. 2. Focus on Key Concepts: Know the Scrum Guide inside out, especially roles, events, and artifacts. 3. Keep Moving: Don’t get stuck on tough questions. Answer what you can, mark difficult ones, and come back to them if time allows. This strategy will allow you to get through the questions that you are sure of and gives you time to think about the trickier ones. 4. Stay Calm: Trust your first instinct and stay steady. You’ve got this-good luck! 🚀💪

Currently and project coordinator. Looking to become a Project Manager. Does it make sense for me to get a scrum certification?
@thecareeraccelerators8 ай бұрын
Great question 👌! Absolutely, I'd say go for it. As more organizations adopt Agile methodologies, having a Scrum certification can definitely give you an edge. It prepares you to work effectively in both Agile and traditional Waterfall environments. Plus, with this certification, you can easily transition into roles like a Scrum Master. While it’s not always mandatory to be certified, it surely boosts your profile during the job hunt and helps you stand out once you’re on the team. Good luck on your journey! 🚀💪🙏

Hi Steve. Can i write the CBAP Certification without going through the other certifications. Note that i have 4 years of Experience doing Data Engineering and Analysis
@thecareeraccelerators8 ай бұрын
Hello Michael, The simple answer is Yes, you can. Completing the ECBA and CCBA is not a prerequisite for the CBAP Examination. However, your ability to meet the work experience prerequisite for the CBAP examination largely depends on the specific responsibilities you held in previous roles. Many professionals carry out business analysis tasks without holding the specific title of a Business Analyst or even realising that their duties align with those of a Business Analyst. To determine your eligibility, we need to assess whether the tasks you performed and the number of hours you dedicated to each task meet the IIBA's standards for the CBAP exam. Hope this helps. If you would like to have a FREE coaching call for us to quickly discuss and assess your eligibility, then, please use the following link to book : calendly.com/thecareeraccelerators/chat-with-an-expert Good luck 😊

Hello Matthew, acquiring certifications is not the same thing as acquiring the practical knowledge required to do a job. Also as with every industry, there are proven strategies, tips, tricks on how to transition into that field. The challenge with trial and error is that it takes time and you learn from your own mistakes instead of that of others. Our focus is to provide those practical strategies on how to make the transition into tech. It would be great to have a chat to understand how we can assist you in making the transition.
