I'm so sorry, I could have sword I had replied! This was a base of screamer pink with white from above, and then I airbrushed Vallejo Golden Yellow over that in a few passes! No contrast was used on this particular mini, that I can remember!

An airbrush made this process soooo much nicer for an entire army. I changed the recipe a little bit with using the primer retributor rather than the paint pot version, then did the 50/50 mix of BA red and contrast then did one last layer of pure contrast to get the shinier version in the liner herericus. I highly recommend doing the last layer if anyone wants a gloss shine finish

I shall definitely bear that in mind doing a final coat of contrast! I'd honestly completely forgotten about spray Retributor and if doing an army that would absolutely be the right move 💪 I think doing a 50/50 mix was the most important part, rather than putting it on without thinning. I think it definitely was an improvement!

Thousand Sons were done dirty in 40K. The Turquoise blue is nice- but Candy Apple Red is soooooo much cooler.

I've always loved a candy apple red! The turquoise blue they get in 40k is nice, but I don't know how much I like it. Probably not enough for painting an army of them 😆

Every Sprue of (5) Miners includes a pony, aswell as a full unit command. Just how GW decided to make them back in the day. So now that they're selling 20 in a box you got a grudge load of ponies alongside.

Now that I think about it, that makes complete sense! I've never collected dwarves before, although I do remember being given a sprue from Skull Pass with a pony & cart on it - hopefully I can find it again soon. Thank you very much!!

@@GloriousMiniatures The Skull Pass box was awesome. I really hope they'll re-release it. If nothing else, I'm pretty confident they're gonna re-cut the Isles of Blood molds and re-release the High Elf portion, based on promotional pictures.

Is any one keen on some of that Mechanicum action? I will say that the Knights are tempting, but as usual, it comes down to price - I've noticed the volume of purchases has significantly dropped off over the past nine months. Saying that, apparently my Kingdom of Brettonia order has finally been shipped apparently!

Gotta represent 👍 Seriously though, I do remember doing one particular brushstroke now I think back to it and it was definitely slightly thicker than I would have liked. Or at least I can remember seeing the brushstroke in the wet paint. I do generally attempt to thin the paint down to what I think is a suitable amount, with the metals I think I have a bit less patience... or certainly did!

Hey there Abaddon! Thank you very much! I use generally the same primer I've been using for the last 30 years, which is Chaos black! As long as the conditions are OK it's pretty great. I have used Vallejo black primer for airbrush for quite a few years too, and I will finally be trying some Mr Hobby Mr Surface Primer very soon, which I've heard very good things about.

I do, yes! Usually, I use Tamiya Extra thin or something similar, but I'll use the regular stuff on larger bits where needed.

@CarbonBallas so that glue does melt the plastic together and provide very good strength. Once it fully cures, then you can or scrape away any excess. The main thing to remember is trying not to get any excess glue on the model's detail - it will soften any detail, and if you smoosh a finger on , you then will have a fingerprint to deal with! That being said, it is definitely the stuff to use when needing to bond (polystyrene) plastic to plastic!

It would have made things easier definitely. However, as I've said many times, I was painting all of the legions from the same starting point: black primer. I've been using black primer for 30 years and it's generally what I like to use to start off with 👌

I absolutely agree with you there. I've personally got the most interest in seeing breachers and destroyers, but getting upgrade sprues for all of them ASAP would be a great move!!

This is true. I wish there was a way of getting older miniatures. Short of scanning their entire catalogue amd basically having their older stuff printed to order, it's going to be tough. I was lucky I had a few of my brother's old army around... I hope you manage to find a copy somewhere!!!

So I looked on WH webstore, the Cultists of the Abyss Warband is officially gone, so I get the feeling that GW is going to restrict the Chaos Cultists to being bare bones melee weapon and pistols, unless they plan on coming out with an autogun kit in the future.

It would be great if they could do even an upgrade sprue with the stubber/flamer/grenade launcher on plus some extra body bits. An entirely new set of chaos cultists would be ideal though, to add some difference to the army. I don't know when they stopped the Cultists of the Abyss set... was it relatively recently??

The Stompa kit itself is not too dodgy (it has a wealth of interesting parts for your orky bits box if nothing else). The instructions however leave _A LOT_ to be desired. To begin with none of the Stompa's parts are numbered which is an issue for a kit with over 230 parts... Also, the assembly pictures provided where taken with a potato from one angle.

Well, I think it is a more viable question when it comes to Tau. I don't know nearly as many people who collect Tau. You might not be able to get two from the same store however. Obviously there are GW stock issues in general, but I would have said there is more chance of getting two of these sets than the recent Dark Angels one. ** In fact, stock is still going strong in the UK five hours after being released, as I thought it might. Obviously, the'll sell out at some point, but the old double box purchase is viable!
