Hi bojanu Did you find a solution ? Since my last regular service april 2019, i had the exact same problem. The service company has replaced the heat exchanger, reduced the boiler effect, and all other things. But the error persist, and alone the heat exchanger cost equals half the price of a new boiler. My boiler is a Vaillant ecotec exclusive, and i live in DK Best regards Peter

I'm afraid you're making a technical mistake. The leader need to clip a quickdraw on the belay or a anchor very close to the belay, what we call in french "point de renvoi". Without that quickdraw it's dangerous if the leader fall before he clips the 1st anchor.

May I ask where exactly was the end of the 4th pitch (1st 6b)? We climbed from the last bolt to the right to some two trees, but obviously that was a mistake. At the end of 4th pitch I saw some bolts on the left side, and further to the left probably some bolts from passenger (7b), and there was some old black sling hanging under the major crack where 5th pitch should start. I was expecting 2-bolt anchor, but didn't find one :(

Unfortunately, we can't remember anything specific after the 4th pitch. But there is definitely 2-bolt anchor...

My 9 month old Vailant 832 has started to make the exact same noise, is the repair covered under its warranty?? the installer can only visually check as they are not allowed to replace parts otherwise the warranty is void
@67comon
@67comon 7 жыл бұрын
Had Valliant out today who have greased the bolts who said expand causing the noise,hopefully this has sorted it. The warranty covered the fix.To people where the combi is out of warranty I doubt replacing a part will cure the same problem so be sure as parts are expensive enough with out having a new part fitted only to find the noise remains.

+Steven Griffiths I recommend the topoguide.de Corsica guide. www.topoguide.de/Kletterfuhrer_Korsika/kletterfuhrer_korsika.html It's the best guide for Corsica even if you don't speak german. There is a free sample of the Haddad and Omerta routes. www.topoguide.de/Topo_Haddad.pdf There is also a new french guide with english text: escalade.corse.topo.free.fr/index.php?menu=gdv&page=Les%20grandes%20voies&lg=fr

Why is everyone complaining! Get vaillant in to have a look at it instead of slagging them off! Thats why they have a warranty!

Stefan Turner Why do you think that I did not try to solve this with the dealer first? They replaced several parts, even the whole heat exchanger with limited success. The next thing would be to replace the whole boiler. And they don't want to do that.
@Obsidianiron
@Obsidianiron 9 жыл бұрын
That sounds like expansion, could be pipework rubbing on joists, copper pipes elongate when hot water flows through them and shrink when cooling. Does the sound occur when the boiler has been switched off and the system is cooling down? If it does then there's your answer.

Mine was doing the exact same thing and it was driving me insane.My boiler is also in the bedroom which made it worse.Vailliant got their repair guy out and he instantly knew what it was.He took a big bit out of the boiler and said there were two different bits of metal that expand and that the bolts were tightend too tight.He actually had difficulty loosening them and said they were way over tightened.He said they are often over tightened in the factory and that they should be greased too.He loosened them off and greased the bolts and my boiler is now silent and I wish I would have got them out sooner as it really was driving me nuts.Call vailliant and get them out mate.

+rolfen I had the same problem with my vaillant. Then another (diverted valve leaking). Then another (expansion vessel *2). 6 interventions in less than 4 years... More than 800 € paid for out of warranty repairs. So yes it's a shitty product and I agree totaly with +bojanu: Do NOT buy Vaillant

Chack that the water in your circuit is clean. If it's all green and rusty slimey then it will damage parts of the boiler. Maybe its a bad brand, I know nothing about. Thanks for sharing your experience anyway.

The noise is 100% to do with the metal expansion and contraction! but as the video shows the boiler with the flap covering the dials, I cannot go any further than that, but as you say in your description you have had an engineer in to solve it by putting some chemicals into the system, then it must of been the copper pipes expanding and contracting making that terrible noise. Sometimes it's how they run the pipes ie... Through joists, etc. that matters. But yes, a noise reducing chemical is what I've had to use on several occasions, with not just this make of Boiler, but many others too.

I've recently had one of these (Ecotec Plus 615) installed by the local council, and I have to agree, it is really noisy. All that clicking keeps making me think I have an intruder in the house (really unnerving when trying to sleep), plus it breaks out into a loud hum every couple of hours or so that vibrates through the walls and sounds like a jack-hammer going off down the road. I'm constantly getting the service engineers out, but they are baffled. I know someone that has an older model which is dead quiet. Under the Sales of Goods Act you should be covered for this for up to five years, so you really need to get tough with the company you bought this from, as it's 'not fit for purpose'.
@Obsidianiron
@Obsidianiron 9 жыл бұрын
Your problem is poor water flow through your boiler I had the same problem on my Vaillant EcoTec Plus 418 this is a system boiler not a combi.. I had to put in X800 cleaner to cure the issue. There was a restriction somewhere, I'm not sure where possibly the heat exchanger. But I'm not 100% convinced it was the heat exchanger as the noise only appeared in hot water mode, but the solution worked.
@CrankCase08
@CrankCase08 9 жыл бұрын
Obsidianiron Nope, nothing to do with the water. The Council arranged for the manufacturer to send one of their engineers to deal with it. He said the problem was with the type pf gasket that had been fitted to some large circular thing inside - I forgot what it's called. Anyhow, it runs dead quiet now.
@yonmons
@yonmons 10 жыл бұрын
Our Valiant has just started doing exactly this 6 months after installation. Previously it was quiet. We have just had a new kitchen fitted, and the pipe work for the boiler boxed in, and boiler itself fitted in a kitchen cupboard. I suspected it was some sort of heat expansion, as it only started happening after the boxing in. It does stop once the system has warmed, but does wake you up when it the heating comes on at 6 am ! Previously you were unaware the heating had switched on until you felt a rad.

A pain in the bloody arse these things as far as the noise goes. We have had one for 7 years and it bangs when the DHW has reached temperature. My neighbour's is even worse and we hear it all through our house. Am complaining to council as it is anti-social. Well done Vaillant.

I solved the problem following this : The single clicking noise IS due to the nuts that hold the burner door onto the main heat exchanger. If you think that the burner door and main heat exchanger are made from different metals - they will expand at different rates.You'll need a gas engineer to loosen the nuts and tighten them again - just not as tight as they were. Then - MOST IMPORTANT - he will have to test the burner door using a flue gas analyser. And I have no more clicks :D Hope it helps
