Unbelievable that Dvorak made this up in 12 days on a short notice… His life, legacy and craft speaks for it self and makes sense as a whole. Incredible genius, constantly grasping for something out of this world until his death. Truely one of european giants of music

I highly enjoyed this performance. However, I dream if the part balance is changed to basically 2 pults equally, it probably sounds more charming. Indeed, historically 3 pults of violin or viola have been evaluated to balance with 2 pluts of violoncello as in this performance, probably because of the acoustic volume of the instruments. However, we must remind that 4 single instruments are perfectly balanced in a string quartet. Frankly speaking, in some passages of the performance where Vc and Cb plays an important role, violin and viola sounds a little noisy. This serenade may fit smaller string ensemble than this performance, because it sounds for me as chamber music rather than orchestral music.

You don't just listen to Mahler. He creates a World and you live in it and Wallow in it from first note to last note. This Symphony is on a giant scale and i am overwhelmed with his music and this magnificent performance. For all those who have sung in performances of this you must know Mahler truly thanks you and the rest of us mere mortals envie you ! Bravo !!++

Love seeing the passion that the First Chair is playing with. In my opinion, this piece is why I would choose to play a stringed instrument.❤️

Wow! Without a conductor to have to follow, guess at, and interpret, listen to that articulation, intonation, and balance! You can hear the intellects of the musicians combining for this wonderful sensory experience. Bravo!!! (Nothing against directors, but this is a great example of--it highlights--the genius powering each instrument in any given performance. Of course the concertmaster is giving cues, but this really shows the value of cross-section listening.)

Alors juste Merci Alexandre Kantorow❤️🔥🍃🍃🍃🍂🍂🍂🌈🌈🌈
