Did you use any specific settings and/or film simulations for the photos taken on the x100f? Just got one myself and would like to emulate that look. Great video by the way.

Thanks. I always shoot in RAW on the camera and then add the Fujifilm film simulation I want in lightroom when I begin editing each photo. I go through phases on what film simulation is my favourite but I would say my most used is the Classic Chrome. Hope that helps, I reccomend just shooting in RAW and trying out all the simulations after the fact.

I too am a 5dmiii user. Have 3 of them. My daily carry is the Xpro2 for me. You can actually find them, albeit they are marked up a lil, not nearly as much as the X100's have become. But the interchangeable lenses / dual card slot is a win.

Olympus EM-10 Mk II + Lumix 12-32 F3.5-5.6 pancake lens or any other small Olympus or Lumix F1.8/F1.7 prime. Very small and discreet, IBIS, decent EVF, flip screen, fast and accurate AF, beautiful design, extremely cheap, 16MP which is plenty for my needs, and the best part is that NO ONE cares about it on the streets. I have other cameras, but for exactly the same reasons that you mentioned the Olympus is a winner combo.

Awesome story about the x100f. Earned you a new sub. I've been throwing a Sony A6000 in my pocket even though I also take out its younger full frame cousin, the A7iii. But just like you said, if you've got your beefy boy, people stop and ask questions. With the little guy? No one cares. Especially if I hip shot it a bit. I've got a Fujifilm x-T5 but that's pretty much the size of the A7iii, and so it's kind of a back and forth on whether I use it. It's interesting how these stories play out, huh? All of them. I read your comments and see lots of variations on the theme.

Absolutely love you made this video, specifically for SHOWING you using the gear that "doesn't matter" I totally agree, it doesn't, but sometimes it does. And for certain jobs, you want that crisp 4k image that's crystal clear. But, sometimes you wanna shoot on an old point and shoot 720p camera, just to get a certain vibe. Gear matters, but on matters for what look and story you want to tell. All in all, great video, and loved the pacing of it all!

Yes, as soon as you hold a camera up to your eye, everyone knows what you’re doing. It can be hard to capture peoples’ natural expressions. One of my favorite cameras is a used Sony RX100 which I bought last year. An unexpected benefit of it is that it has a flip up screen, which you can use like a waist level viewfinder. Even though I prefer actual viewfinders, this is a great way to capture people without them really knowing that you’re taking a picture. When using a regular viewfinder, I’ll often talk to my subject and meanwhile snap away, because I can capture more natural expressions. It’s a way to distract and relax a subject. Like anything else, it takes practice and a willingness to adjust your method

I had the x100f after longing for an x100 for ages. After a while I wasn’t happy with the Image quality. I got a a7iii and it blew the Fuji away image quality but I never picked it up unless went abroad. I now have the x100vi and take it everywhere. Main reason as we welcomed our baby boy back in April and I want to document his growing up. Perfect camera for what I want

Having owned the OG X100, F, V, and now the VI (upgraded "for free" thanks to market conditions), I agree it’s a great daily driver. Before switching from DSLR to mirrorless in late 2020, the X100 had a solid place in my kit. However, since getting a tiny 40mm f/2 lens for the Z7II last year, I’ve noticed the two are nearly identical in size. The only physical difference is the Nikon’s slightly higher EVF bump. Without the EVF, the body sizes are virtually the same. The Z7II, despite being four years old, far outperforms the X100VI in image quality, operation and AF speed, and even better batterylife. I took the X100VI to Japan for a month last November, but regretted not bringing the Z7II instead. It’s made me question the point of keeping the X100VI as a compact daily driver when I already have a superior setup that is similar in size.

Yes your camera does matter. But not in the way that most people would think. The camera choice depends on the use case and need of the photographer. For most people the phone is the best choice as having a; small, relatively cheap, portable, simple, easy to use, all-in one, take everywhere camera is what's most useful for people. But likewise every camera has a feeling and emotion to how it operates that impacts the photographer and how he shoots. Funnily enough, often times the limitations of some (older) equipment do more for photography than to just have everything (too many options). My needs are complicated... which have lead to me choosing a very unusual, mostly hated, and somewhat dedicated medium format film camera.

Nice video!! One small tip on the REC709 clip: the HDR wheels are color space aware, meaning that you can specify the color space you are working in so that they work correctly. In your example the timeline color space is set to DWG/DI and the HDR wheels use timeline color space unless you specify something different. So under the options of the HDR wheels you can set them to REC709 and then they will work correctly if you are grading a REC709 clip.

I use the t3i for most things it’s perfect, BUT, it has huge limitations in certain aspects I wouldn’t recommend it for sports photography or any photography with constantly fast moving objects. You can use it for that, I have and got some good photos with it but the limitations are obvious to someone who’s been doing photography for a couple years. As for lenses I use a 50mm, 24-55mm, and a 55-250mm I also have access to a Sigma 150-600mm and a 75-300mm though those last two are not mine. I think the three I own are fine but I still wish to upgrade later on, the only lens I wouldn’t recommend is the 75-300mm it’s fine but has some issues such as purple and green fringing, instead get a 55-250 which doesn’t have that issue. Right now I’m thinking of up grading to a full frame either the 5d mark 1, mark 2, or the canon 1dx mark 1 and eventually getting a 24-70 f/2.8 a 85mm f/1.8 and a 70-200 f/2.8 if and when I can afford to(aka never💀) there’s of course better cameras and lenses that’s I’d prefer but they’re way out of price range for me and I believe the options I’m thinking of will do fine Overall imo the gear you have doesn’t matter to a certain extent I was in a congressional art competition for my school last year and the photo that got me in was taken on my friends iPhone at the end of the day you can get great photos with a couple hundred dollar set up but when you notice your not getting the shots you want due to your camera burst being too slow, your censor being too small, or your lens not having the desired sharpness or aperture it might be time to upgrade.
@infernobread

Should be obvious but I’m a photographer not a videographer so I can only speak on the photography side of my gear. Though I hope one day I can get into videography.
@Superbustr

You could honestly shoot 95 percent of what you ever would want to shoot with two prime lenses. And a prime lens will simplify the whole photography processes giving you more focused distinctive results over a zoom. Lastly a prime will give you the sharpness and image clarity that you want. It should be obvious but zooms make your style inconsistent as every single shot in-between (the widest and most tele) will be at a different random focal length changing the perception of depth a lot between different images.
