This is near Chester, which IMO, is a railroad hotbed. Besides this line being one of 3 busiest in SC, it also sees action from the Norfolk Southern going between Columbia & Charlotte. Plus there is the Lancaster & Chester on the old NS line which terminates in Kershaw. It used to go through Camden and then curve back around into Columbia on the Columbia-Charleston line. The other two busy lines in SC are the CSX A Line from Savannah through Charleston to Florence on North. The other is the NS line from Atlanta to Charlotte. Coal traffic is found on the CSX line from Laurens through Chesnee.

Is it a permeant attraction their??
@mkl622 жыл бұрын
Saw on another video taken in Newberry that CSX purchased the NS line to Silverstreet. If that is the case, like Greenwood, there will be no more NS in Newberry County. Sad because the old Southern basically built downtown Greenwood by going down Main Street.

My guess is that these units were picked up in Laurens at Irby Yards from the Carolina & Piedmont RR. Its #1 customer is the GE plant in Greenville. My guess is that they are then shipped into the mountains via the old Clinchfield or taken to a shipping port to be transported overseas. Or they could be taken to Spartanburg to await transport on the Norfolk Southern line.

You're correct. CN train ran away in Nepisiguit near the Brunswick mines. The lead engine, 9457, is also still in service. It's owned by the New England Central Railroad and renumbered to 3015.
