@1:46 oh you done screwed up. You didn't remove the hood pins first. I've seen hoods get sprung because of that.

I love those old cars. Government mandates about safety, fuel economy and emissions changed the car industry. I wonder if the engine in this car is the 292 cubic inch Y block V8 (also called The Thunderbird V8). The Fairlane 500 was a mid level trim line. The Galaxie introduced in 1959 was an upper trim line of the Fairlane 500 for that year. The Galaxie became its own separate model in 1960 later becoming the Galaxie 500 as the top of the Ford for the next few years until the LTD trim out for 1965. Back to the Fairlane trim series, Ford sold the Fairlane as a full size model until 1962 when the became a new smaller car based on the Ford Falcon compact but a little larger. The Fairlane was eventually replaced altogether by the Torino years later. Consumers car buying tastes is constantly changing and manufacturers change their model choices to accommodate an ever changing car market.

I bought one just like it, same color, but 3 speed stick and 6 cylinder engine for $200 back in 1973. It also had only 50 something thousand miles. Drove it 3 years. Robins Egg Blue....Ford must have painted thousands of them that color.

It would be a pleasant feeling to drive a 1960 Ford Fairlane today. But I would get a bit shaky with all those careless drivers behind the wheel of 3-ton SUV's while they're chatting on cell phones and not paying attention to their driving.

DZL Muldrew sadly not all have AUX I just got the convertible version of this and if music and tech is as important to you as it to me you can get a new Nav/radio system at Best Buy or Frys for $80-400 depending on everything you want the system to do. plus they'll install for it for you if you want.

I owned no fewer than 5 full sized 1960 Fords, mine either had a 292 or 352 CID engine. Huge cars. The 292 engine had solid valve lifters. A six was available and transmission options were a 3 speed with or without overdrive, a two speed or a 3 speed automatic.

How to make a great car look and sound like garbage: 1. Have a creepy dude review it. 2. Use a terrible microphone. 3. Say nothing informational, only cliches. 4. Hold camera in your hand while driving. 5. Drive an automatic.
