I love how everyone underestimates this hike, myself included. Did it this summer in 4.5 days (first day was just a couple km). We'd done numerous 'hard' hikes in the Rockies but The Silhouette Trail kicked our asses! Despite having less elevation gain than the hikes in the mountains the terrain is so rough it makes it much harder. Good effort and glad you powered through safely.

I managed about 2km/h but I had a very heavy bag. I assume you ladies are quite experienced, so why did you move so slow?

You inspired me to walk 22km this weekend on the same trail, I was worried how I am gonna make 22km but look at them I mean wow, hats off.

Simply awesome effort. I did one with 80 lbs (lots of camera gear and way too much food, chair, etc.) in 2016 in oppressive Spring heat in 5 days. I'm toying with the idea of doing this one in one shot too (maybe a pipe dream), next year when I turn 60. I would carry an emergency minimum shelter gear just in case. I do tough 40 k hikes regularly, but would push to se how 60 works before trying what you gals just did. Much admiration from this side.

Great project! Despite the struggle, you both kept a sense of humour and positive attitude. Other hikers must have been confused by what you were doing.

I'm sorry but this seemed like a ridiculous, ill-conceived idea! Hopefully anyone who sees this will learn from your mistakes... and never try to repeat it.

Deaf Services Office Challenge builds character. I saw a map in use. I saw a med kit. I saw headlamps, and obviously successful nighttime navigation on a tough trail. I saw food. Didn’t see a water filter (😮). I suspect they checked the forecast before heading out too. Not for everyone, to be sure, but you don’t to the La Cloche in under 30 hours if you’re not in shape and have some experience and well-adjusted attitudes under your belt.

This is a ridiculous statement. Obviously they weren't just a bunch of bums who rolled out of bed and decided to hike 80km in one go. Good for them! It's an amazing feat.

Disagree with your comment at 6:46, you both are tough! Amazing job :)
