What's the advantage of these when there already such a huge CCMT 09 range?

Good question Elan. CCMT as you know is only single sides, so with CNMG 09 you are getting two extra cutting edges. Also CCMT is designed for light machining like finishing or semi finishing with its 7 degrees of clearance. CNMG is a much stronger insert in a more supported pocket aimed more into heavy to medium machining.

My shop in, early 80's" in Southern California ran about 80% Iscar tooling. We had 25 cnc mills and 15 cnc lathes. Iscar is a very good product.

Only issue I have with these tips is that wear is a bit hard to detect, compared to their 2 flute variant. Nothing much tho.
