just to clarify on row 17, there is only one increase? The written pattern in the top right corner is showing two increases for row 17.

Thanks for sharing your pattern. OMG, I hate the purl stitch too! I knit continental and it's even worse for me! I've been experimenting with the Norwegian purl and it's a little better. Like you, I avoid patterns that have a lot of purling, but I need to get over that because I love the way the stockinette stitch looks.

I dont know how to add a picture but I followed what she is saying and I cant see what I have done wrong . The first half has like flipped over as I continued doing the mask on both times I tried doing it . So the side where it sits flat against your face after doing the middle garter stitches is now on the outside of the second half of the mask even though I followed what she said . I'm a beginner so I just dont understand how I have managed it . Does anybody know what i may have done or how to help ?? 😅
@broadwaybarb4 жыл бұрын
There are two places you could have made an error. 1) when you finally get to 35 stitches on the knit side - did your remember to the "knit 4, purl, knit 4" on the 35 stritches BEFORE you started the 10 rows of straight knit? 2) the other place you might have gone wrong is knitting either 9 or 11 rows before you went back to the alternating rows. Here's one way to ensure you're doing the correct stitches on the correct side: when you first cast on and you have 18 stitches on the needle, hold the needle with the stitches in your left hand like you are about to start knitting. Take a look at where the "tail" of the yarn is (it will be on different sides depending on what method you use to cast on). Write down the starting point at the top of your paper (left OR right). You are currently look at the "right" side of the mask. Every time you see the tail on that starting side, you will always do the knitting where you either add or drop stitches. When the tail is on the other side, you will always do the "knit4, purl, knit 4" combo. So, when you finish the row of 10 knit stitches in the middle, BEFORE you start to knit and take the stitches down, look to make sure that the tail is where it was just after you cast on. This was you are certain that you are looking at the "right" side of the mask, and that is the side that has only the knitting and the reducing of stitches. I hope this helps.

I just added an addition garter row so I'd be on the right side.
