Shane saved Jack's life although Jack killed Shayne's mom. That says it all . I"m so proud of the amazing young man Shayne is. And i feel sorry for Jack more in every episode. Being a rich spoiled brat and all. No real values and nobody to teach him. Like father like son.

The writers should have let Shane been the one to killed victor after Jack and Brad killed his mother, that would make the storyline even more interesting.

They made a good plan to teach Shane his lesson, with Beth involved... if only they had got a chance to go through with it. Beth was keen to do it. He did need to learn that you don't grass on guys like Jack to the teachers.
