I often feel “paralyzed” by the condition of my craft room. I have learned that what I can see gets used therefore, I avoid cardboard boxes or bags. Suggestion for completed crafts would be to put them in the containers that you will haul them in to the craft fair. I also try to separate like items and have a designated space for every item. It definitely is always a work in progress! Merry Christmas from Alaska.

My season to sell ended last Saturday! Had boutiques starting in October. My son is coming out Dec 28 and sleeps in that room. All my treasures will be put away by then. In boxes .. in the garage until I can take my time to reorganize and hit those after Christmas sales to add to the themed craft boxes. Been doing this for 15 years so don’t sweat it. Tried to send you a pic of my overflow craft room, but can’t figure how to do it! Take my word for it.. your room is very manageable! Good luck! Enjoy the rest of This holiday with family!
@alesiayoung21602 күн бұрын
Don’t stress yourself for now since you have guests coming just put everything in a tote then just set a goal of 2 things a week to try to go thru and declutter instead of tackling a big project all at once it can become overwhelming otherwise especially since you work, run a household, you have other obligations being a wife and mother on top of this is huge! Trust me I have been there! Try not to worry about organizing now with guests, the holidays coming just tuck everything away cover it up and deal with it one bite at a time later on

Ha! You should see my room! I have two rooms… I do try to clean up as I go but it’s not always feasible to do so and it just ends up a mess again. This year my husband decided to give me his office because he was tired of the house being just one large craft room for the months of September-December… (sometimes August too) so we did a huge shift in our house. I also have a climate controlled storage unit that I rent monthly with a lot of my inventory components. I shop year round for things to include in my craft fair so it’s nice to have somewhere to store those things I don’t really need until I do. It’s close enough to my house that I can go once a week if I needed.

I get the struggle. I keep as much as possible, sorted into stacking bins. I do have a staging area, which helps tremendously. I know how overwhelming everything can feel. Just remember to take one bite of the elephant at a time. I find it really helps keeping like items together. I do hold over items until the next craft season, as long as they aren't perishable. Best of luck!

I use totes with lids (because the lids help with stacking and utilize vertical space) to store my finished craft fair items in. I get the clear one's from Sam's club so they're all the same size. Being the same size helps with feeling more organized, I'm not sure why. I use smaller bins with lids inside the totes to help protect crafts from getting damaged, then I strategically stack the bins inside the totes, then I stack the totes where they are 'out of the way'. For example I have two totes stacked under one of my craft tables, the other three totes are stacked along a wall on the far side of the room. I store everything in my craft room all year, which is a spare bedroom and not very big at all. I'm not sure how it works but it does Lol. I try leaving a clear walkway to get through the room. Also, I don't buy a lot of craft supplies that I don't really need and only buy what I have space for. I really try to make due with what I've got so that I can keep the clutter down. That probably wasn't very helpful but that's what I do 💁♀️ Lol

I understand where your coming from. I have a closest with shelfs in my craftroom. I use Avon boxes to store things I finish or items that need to be made. They have lids so you can stack them on each other in the shelfs out of the way. In in my craftroom I have a cubbie shelf it has eight cubes. I use Avon boxes to store my small items I finished, like my nuggets treats In them. I have avon boxes in my spare bedroom closet as well. I have a shed to store bigger items completed in bigger bins and to store my tables, trays, shelfs, etc. for the shows. I have 5 collapsible crates that I take to the shows they stack up on to each other, if i need to store them in the house.when not in use they fold up and stored in the shed or put under the bed. I too take over my spare bedroom. I go through my boxes after the show and add to them before the next show. My grandson sleeps over on the weekend so I have to clean it out i use boxes i can stack them and put them out of the way i hope it helps. M❤❤❤

I place completed items in an X-Large tote with lid and I throw a cushion and blanket on top and “stage” it as extra seating at the end of my bed or in my front room and then I have 2 foldable rolling carts an xtra large one that I wheel in my craft room and put my completed items in and the smaller I just fill with whatever I can to get stuff off the floor and table and as I work I sift through the smaller cart for items I may need to complete what I am working on then after the show I can always fill these carts up in my craft room and throw a blanket over the top until after the holiday. You could stack two totes on top of each other by the window in your guest room and cover them with a throw for me it’s more calming to try to “organize “ my carts/bins after the holiday I can relax and take my time and go through one bin at a time but I can never seem to have my craft room “picture perfect” like I see on some posts no matter how much I try so I just try to at least have it to a point where I am not spending 2 hours looking for my double sided tape!🤣

@ when I first started out and did not have much money or furniture I would use a tote for storage and lay a piece of scrap wood on top with a small table cloth and use as a coffee table, in my kids room I put their toys in one and put pillows on it with a blanket over it and it worked as toy storage and a seat for the kids
