Without the Elevate 2.0 Bipod, I would not have been able pull off the shot I made on a bull elk this year. It’s so fast and stable; I was able to quickly set up a side hill shot and was ready when he presented the shot, saw the impact and made a follow up. 2 perfect shots in limited time on a feeding bull; it was great fun. Thank you!

Ruger 10/22 with a decent scope is about as much fun per dollar as you can have at the range. If you’re not familiar check out the Appleseed Project - it’s a 22lr 25M course with scaled targets to simulate long range fire.

Yep. I train with 22lr at 300 for that reason. If you can learn to tame a light bullet at its max effective, it makes you much better when using other platforms

Weld maybe 3 separate lengths of heavy chain long enough to drag the floor like anchors and use a wider strap and that thing would be mint. Great idea, i have all the stuff to build this minus the disc. Omw to the junkyard 🏃🏻♂️

As a relatively seasoned shooter and hunter, this episode was chock full of knowledge. Explained in a way that can be easily understood and passed on to newer shooters. Thanks for the conversation!

I believe this is click bait but fk it I've got nothing better to do at 1am. You should check your annealing temperature, i don't believe it's hot enough, 700 ish degrees is your target temp. What are you using to resize your case? You should be two Thousandths (.002) under size of your round to create enough neck tension. With tension you get resistance. If it's a loose fit in the neck you lose breach pressure. Take it for what it's worth, Everyone is a reloading expert on KZbin just look at all the comments.

I really enjoyed this podcast. I may need to listen to it several more times because of all of the information. Aaron, your technical descriptions of caliber, bullet makeup and BC paired with velocity was amazing. I have had your 140 VLD in 6.5CM perform 2 different ways on the same Hartebeest and now I understand why. Shot an Axis deer w 147 ELD M out of 6.5 PRC explode through the shoulder on its way to destroying the heart. Your explanation now makes sense to me regarding these 2 bullets and my shot placement on both animals. I placed each bullet exactly opposite than you prefer, Berger through soft tissue and the ELD M on bone. That’s again for the information and education. John, I like your work as well and great questions of Aaron.

This is an ignorant statement from a rich guy building $10k rifles. You think I'm sitting outside the X with just a zero, or do you think I would use my dope as a quick reference from my hide? My shots prove this statement false.

lol , I Remember when gunwerks built a 9000 dollar .22 that they posted shooting 500 yards. I responded you can get a fx impact air rifle shoot that with a link of UTAH AIRGUNS shooting that on squeekers. great video

Thanks for this podcast and for developing this outfitter program! I have two unrelated comments for you. 1. I’m an aspiring hunter. Over the last two years, I have taken LR1/2 and LR3, and I have a 7PRC Magnus rifle and a BLR10B rangefinder/bino. This year, I hope to hunt antelope in NM or WY with a Gunwerks instructor, paired with some additional training (possibly repeating LR1/2). My comment relative to the podcast is please keep beginners and folks desiring to hunt in the western US in mind for this program. I’m not ready for Africa or Tajikistan yet. 2. I was very interested to hear you briefly mention the Kuiu Kutana Gale Force and super Down Pro Burner parkas. I have the Gale Force and am considering the burner, mostly for some work I do in Canada, but also for future hunting use. I’d be interested in more details of your opinions/comparisons on these two parkas and other Kuiu gear. Thanks! Elmer

I really like that you’re getting these in places. But part of the allure of picking up one of these nexus rifles was the heirloom quality and the stories the rifle would rack up on it. It’ll be difficult to leave it behind

Hyrum, I’ll share my Gunwerks recommendations for high country elk and deer. There’s a few more considerations to make the best choice like expected shot distance, suppressed or not, what bullet, price range. My contact info is in my channel description if you want to reach out.

I've put somewhere close to 500 rounds through the Magnus 6.5. I will pack the extra ounces with the Nexus any day and I'll recommend it over the lighter rifles.
