As a survivor of one and like the other comment said, My school had 8 floors since it was prek-11th we had a lockdown. Everyone was laughing except me and my friends because we just had a play date but saw on the news a prisoner escaped. After that day i was scared ( we were all ) . So me and my friends got so silent and then, we heard a gunshot. Everyone started screaming so me and ONE of my friends out of 4 came with me and started running out since noise located the shooter. We went to the 4th floor but as soon as that, we got silent. The shooter was walking down the hallway so we immediately closed down the elevator and went up to the 6th floor we were scared as heck. We saw one injured person so since my friend didnt have her phone, i called 911 which i was supposed to do in the first place. I heard gunshots again and 911 finally answered. We told them about EVERYTHING . We heard footsteps so we hid for like 20 minutes. Then the footsteps were like: going down . So I ran through a window, my friend screaming my name trying to tell me not to jump and break the window. But eitherway, i did. And when i did it was full of officers and etc. I dont know how but i grabbed myself from another wall . I was screaming and the police found me. They got the prisoner. And sentence him for LIFE. I sprained my leg and arm but theyre now healed. My 3rd friend had a wound on her shoulder and when i saw my mom, i cried so hard. Ok, so based on this information, here are the safest places to hide/run away at my school because i am bored: The best option to run away if i am outside is running away to the basketball court and climb behind a roof that we have for being able to play if theres rain and then climb the fence and escape (since you cant be seen while climbing the fence) If im inside and on a lower part of the school i'll run to the rooms where we do science experiments since the rooms have better locks, heavier furniture, glass objects to hirt the shooter if he gets inside and also a second room where chemicals are stored in which can be locked too. And if i am in another part of the building just lock myself in a class and barricade the door because even though the doors can be locked its pretty easy to unlock them since you just need a card. Yeah i dont even live in america...!

Something simallar happened today at my school but not near as scary today in geography class I was finished with my work so I played dress to impress don’t ask how I definitely didn’t cheat the system by making a new account that wasn’t for school anyway one minute before the bell rang so we could leave the intercom went off saying teachers hide in the corner turn off the lights and whatever you do stay in the classroom and don’t go to the hallway until the lockdown is over I was a tiny bit scared but I thought it was a drill right? Whrong I found out because the person next to me was texting her friend and then started watching TikTok at full volume the teacher looked scared and sternly said turn your phone off what if the person is in our building that’s when I knew it wasn’t fake I just started crying and this girl I never met just hugged me the lockdown was over it was just a man running from the police the police caught him he fought back but eventually the police caught him and tased him but to scare everybody in the explo class hall he said HE HAS A KNIFE!!!!! I just started screaming bloody murder and running turns out he was kidding with us but it’s awful that things like this and much worse happen
