This is the martial art of Taekwondo as represented by Koreans and the Kukkiwon. There is no kyukpa division in the Olympics. The "Olympic style" Taekwondo sparring is a popular yet small subset of Taekwondo as a whole. All strikes used in the sport can be used in breaking, but not all techniques used in breaking are allowed in the sport.

Ihad the pleasure of meeting GM Lee at the Hanmadang 2008 in Anaheim, CA. He was very kind & generous with his time.

I've several videos of Master LEE Kyu Hyung performing this technique. I've used slo-mo paused them, zoomed in etc... he does not strike the boards with a fist he actually uses his finger tips. Small men, frauds, cheaters and haters are often genuinely surprised to discover that through hard work and discipline others do not need to cheat or be dishonest to accomplish great things. Perhaps you should not be so eager to insult such a great man... follow his example and improve yourself instead.

I think so as well. I was there and didn't think Iran was that special. I thought the European nations were much better (stronger). Anyway, hopefully this year in Turkey we wont get any biased judging.

Superguy, You are eager to impress us with your words belittling what these black belts have demonstrated. Instead of insulting them and telling us it's fake or easy, prove your superior skill or theire lack thereof by posting video of you doing each of breaks shown to the same degree. By the way, those long thin stone slabs that they are breaking are marble, like kitchen counter tops.

if you've hit a plataeu try taking a week off all together and switching your focus to developing strength in the stretched positions and throughout the entire range of movement such as holding a stretch against resistance or with weights. (example: chair splits or chair splits with weight)

It's not how long you stretch, it's how often and what method(s) you use and how you recover, eat, rest, etc... 1 hour every day could be too much.

If you are referring to technical accuracy, then I agree that the target heights are different from the latest Kukkiwon standards. BTW this video preceeds the current standards by several years. However, the model demonstrating the poomsae is international calibre demonstrating amazing technique. Your inability to recognize this is simply due to your lack of experience. Please submit a video of yourself doing Taegeuk 7 with superior technique. (Not going to happen is it?)

Kawi Makki is interesting. I've seen it demonstrated as a simultaneous low block and attack to elbow joint. Perhaps I am just overcomplicating it and should simply think of it as a low and middle block combined. Why it commonly appears a two succesive blocks is a mystery to me.
