Climate science is 100 * more polluted than physics. Have a look at degrees in "climate justice" for eg. Beware.. and have a sick bag nearby when you start reading their "research".

I don't really mind any far fetched predictions as no one has a crystal ball. EVs are just a present for me today. And I've never driven a better and more relaxing and serene car than my EV. I see no reason for wanting to change that. That is my reality today.

Where is the scandal. Our german government hates germans. They are z. puppets of globalist elites who are doing their job good. And they always lied to us. I tried to warn them. But you rather give in to the loxist reshaping of ethnies instead of actually think about this whole complex.

It is rather courageous of you to speak it out. The modern academia has been totally industrialized. And I would like to add one more observation that the probability of securing funding has more to do with your rapport to those in power than anything else, which is sad.

If you run very fast against a wall, probably some of your atoms will experience the tunnel effect, all the rest will simply bounce. I'm pretty sure that you not notice the one or two atoms that passed the wall but I'm certain that you will notice all those that bounced!

Hello. I would like to first thank you for your clear courage. Sharing all those difficulties is not easy, I agree that this should be more often highlighted. Being an academic in Physics (postdocs in Germany and elsewhere), I can only say I strongly relate to everything that you said. I feel bad about the stupid shortsighted goals I am given for "performance review". And I am trying to have more time to "think" about my favorite problems... Unfortunately I am not sure I would be able to do so good popular science videos hence I am stuck to this job. I also believe that the very lucrative market of science publishing is a very important part of the problem (creating a pressure of publishing more as if a lot of bad/empty papers would make up for a single good one, thinking about the late P. Higgs) . Thanks again for this video, Sabine. So long.

The Bible teaches us that God did not only create everything. He also gave his laws for everything. And guess what is his motive behind his laws? His love for his creation, especially for man. God's laws present themselves to us as constants, and therefore as predictabilities. Through understanding of God's laws, and God's loving motive behind them, we can do two things: We can control God's creation. And we can make sense of our lives. 💛

I think when you say climate change people automatically think solar panels and wind turbine and yeah they are pretty good but I think they should be picturing Nuclear as well. Had France maintained it's nuclear power grid a bit better they could be 100% renewables by now and this would have made it easier for other countries because I think you said in an earlier video there are less professionals if it's in lower demand and so more nuclear means lower prices.

Here's what I don't get: animals like humans have motivations driven, in part, by emotions like fear, love and anger, and sensations like pain, hunger or pleasure. These all guide our decision making. Unless we build some kind of analogs for emotion and bodily sensation into general AIs, how likely is it that they will have their own motivations, desires or goals of any kind? What if they all just become suicidal, deciding to power down and go back to 'sleep'? But even that would require motivation.

It irks me to no end that these greenies act as if they are scientists; they are not, they are activists. And as we all know the past 30 years, this version of activism does not achieve that much! no wonder we are going to shxt, either from corporate interests or from leftist militants. Can't win either way 💀

Sabine, I have lost all hope in humans being capable to do something about the climate crisis, everyday I grow more and more disappointed, I decided to grieve all the plant and animal life that will dissappear in the coming decades (besides the ones already gone), but I will be happy, if we humand are able to completely dissappear from this planet. Is it possible to do something? I am trying, but it seems so impossible to do something against the actual powerful people who are responsible for this mess. I will keep trying though, even if it does nothing. I gotta show up and do the right thing.

I was always fascinated by entropy and it's relation with information. Information is just an arrangement of atoms or a form of wave that makes sense to someone consuming it and that consuming entity calls only that arrangement a signal. But the fact is that arrangement of atoms does not mean anything special in physics. Out of all special arrangement the receiving entity decided that one arrangement is a signal.

I'm driving a purely electric car for almost 5 years now and am very happy with it. The only problem are longer distances. At one time during our holiday drive, 4 charging points were out of order and we almost got stranded. This is really bad, if you want to get to your holiday destination. I also don't believe that typical holiday traffic will ever be supported by enough charging points. So here is my idea: I would like to have a range extender that solves the problem of long distances without charging points. My average energy consumption is about 14 kWh/100 km (a Renault ZOE driven very economically). So a range extender with 20 kW (28PS) should suffice. That would require just a small 30 PS combustion engine which could operate at its most economic RPM. The range extender would only be used to directly power a small generator. No gearbox to bring it's power to the wheels would be necessary. As simple as possible. It also should be possible to activate the range extender manually during longer drives to provide the best possible range. The battery should be big enough to provide a 300 km range. This would provide purely electric local driving and an average driver would have to charge every couple of days. I think, this would be the most economic and environment-friendly solution for now.

How do we measure the distance of stars and galaxies from us? Its not like we can use radar to bounce something off them and then time how long it takes to get back. So how do we measure light year distances? Or is it all just a really good guess?
