My tomatoes were diagnosed at a lab with CMM Bacterial Canker. I am planning for next spring. So Far on the to do list: Pull up all plants and dispose of (done)- pull up all weeds in proximity of a plant - spray the ground cover (I use a large plastic cover with 15 inch holes for the plants) - spray the fence - soak the cages, stakes, tools , cups and trays- spray the inside of the greenhouses - look for certified pathogen-free seeds and soak seeds w bleach solution - treat seedlings with streptomycin before transplant - treat with copper after transplant. (Last season I sprayed with peroxide and mancozeb but it did not help much Questions: 1) Is there an effective ground-soak I can use in the fall that will kill it in the soil? 2) Does peroxide kill cmm in the soil? 3) If not, can I spray the soil surface with a heavily diluted bleach solution in the fall and have the soil recover by spring? 4) How about one of those 'friendly bacteria' bio fungicides like "Revitalize" ? They do recommend it for ground soak but not sure if its effective tor CMM I have a pepper garden next to the tomato garden. Both are about 1,500 sq feet but are only 5 feet from each other - so close that I'm not sure switching them will help???

Log in how can i tell the difference between male and female mulbery plant? Distinguishing between male and female mulberry plants can be done by observing the flowers, as they have distinct characteristics. Here’s how you can tell the difference: 1. Flowers Male Mulberry Flowers: The male flowers are typically found in catkins (long, hanging clusters) that are cylindrical in shape. These male flowers are smaller and produce pollen. The catkins are often yellowish or greenish. Female Mulberry Flowers: The female flowers are usually smaller and appear in clusters as well. They may look like tiny, green, unripe berries or small fruit-like structures at first. They are typically located closer to the branches. 2. Fruit Development Male Plants: Since male plants only produce pollen, they do not bear fruit. Female Plants: Female mulberry trees are the ones that will bear fruit after being pollinated. The fruits are typically the familiar, juicy, blackberry-like mulberries. 3. Timing of Flowering Male flowers tend to bloom before the female flowers in the spring, so you might notice the catkins first on male trees. 4. General Size and Appearance There is no significant size difference between male and female plants, but the fruiting mulberry trees (female) will eventually produce the small mulberries as they mature. Conclusion To definitively tell the difference, observe the flowers (male flowers in catkins and female flowers near the branches) and whether or not fruit develops later in the season. Only female mulberry trees will produce the edible mulberries after pollination. can tell this difference by comparing the leaves of male and female mulberry? No, you cannot reliably differentiate male and female mulberry plants by comparing their leaves. The leaves of both male and female mulberry trees are very similar in appearance, and they don’t offer any clear distinction between the sexes. Mulberry trees of both genders generally have broad, heart-shaped leaves that may vary slightly in size and shape depending on the specific variety of mulberry, but these differences are not typically tied to whether the tree is male or female. To identify male and female mulberry plants, you will need to focus on the flowers or the fruit: Male plants produce pollen-filled catkins (long, hanging clusters of flowers). Female plants produce small flowers that develop into fruit if pollinated. So, if you're aiming to tell the difference between male and female mulberry trees, checking the flowers (especially during flowering season) or looking for fruit later in the season is the most reliable method.

DO NOT USE MALATHION! Most if not all malathion has a very short shelf life. This makes it very volatile. It will cause you trees to abort the fruit.

👏🏻 So should I wait until my nectarine tree is about the same height as the one shown in the video, before pruning it for the first time? I started mine from seed, germinated it, planted it in a small pot, and then it emerged in about 24 hours. I then transferred it to a 5 gallon bucket months ago. From the moment I planted the germinated seed into soil, it grew very rapidly, and then stopped growing at a certain height. Just want to make sure I prune it at the right time. It will get planted in the ground, but I don’t have the land yet. 😂 Thank you!

I would prune it when it has a few branches and the crotch of the branches is 18-14 inches above the ground. The tree he pruned should have been done at least a year earlier.

Don't use a pruning sealer. Nature has developed a way for trees to handle limbs breaking off. The pruning sealer only traps water in the cut and makes it rot.

After planting tulip bulbs where should I keep it ? In shade or in direct sunshine ?
@FamilyPlotGarden
@FamilyPlotGarden Ай бұрын
The bulbs don't care how much light they get. The plant does like direct sunlight. Usually when it has leaves there are no leaves on the trees yet. Lots of light this year means a pretty flower next year.

I have found that glyphosate works, but not well. I had to apply it 3 times (late summer early fall, using distilled water to avoid it binding with hard water) and I increased the percentage to about 4%. I was told by a herbicide expert that Triclpyr is recommended as it uses an oil carrier and can stick to and penetrate the waxy coating on the vinca’s leaves.

Putting all that soil into a hole is the worst thing you could do. Just plant it in the native soil, get all that grass away from it and put all your amendments on top of the soil. You're just creating a clay pot in the hole if you do it the old way which is this way.

How did your spinach turn out? Nine plants in a square foot seems like a lot when one plant can get close to a foot in size. I imagine you harvested baby spinach leaves consistently. It's what I do with kale but am curious to know your results. Also, you have the same raised beds I do. Hope to find a video showing how you made the grid. Mine are mortared so no way for me to lift the cap and slide anything under it.

The spinach was great. We got a total of 1.09lb. We were harvesting every couple of days until it bolted. Here is the video where we show how we made the grid. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGnOaH5pgdCWg80 As a side note, the jute twine did not last all year, but it did last long enough to get everything planted. If I did it again I would use a nylon twine that would last all year.
