In fall most trees shed leaves and most neighborhoods insists to clear leaves from the yard.. my question is it fair for us to fillup leaves in trash bags and get rid of them ? Why not the communities insist to save the leaves use it for mulch and use them to make leaf mold. Dedicate a area in yard for this purpose. It’s a way to give back to the nature.. do you agree …!!!

My passionfruit was flowering and producing fruits until I fertilized. It still produces flowers, but they do not bear, even when manually pollinating. I fertilized because I was thinking that, the plant was doing so well and producing so many fruits that it would need feeding. But I think it interrupted the natural cycle of the plant somehow. If I had to guess, the extra nitrogen caused the plant to spur vine growth at the expense of fruit growth. I fertilized with fish fertilizer and bone meal. It didn't harm the plant at all, it still grows vigorously, but I missed out on a bunch of flowers turning into fruits. Still dozens of flower buds growing, and the maturation of the fruit is rapid, so I'm hopeful it will bounce back soon and resume producing.

6 plants in a raised 8" bed over clay and all did this after a bunch of rainstorms basically flooded the bed. The clay underneath stopped a lot of the water from draining, and basically drowned the roots. The plants looked identical to the ones in this video. They also had a lot of "root bumps' show up on the stalks near the ground. That indicated the plant trying to grow new roots.

Today for the first time in my long life I was sort of attacked by large flies that had made a mud nest on my fence. They were definitely defending the nest and "attacked" as a wasp or bee would but with no stings. They left me, went back to the nest and of course being curious, I poked the nest with my rake handle and they swarmed out again after me.

Every year my japanese maple's leaves turn brown curl up and die. Every spring it comes back more beautiful than b4 and larger! It's growing exponentially fast and shaping itself beautifully. However, it get brown tips on its red leaves then under brush leaves turn green. Is it OK or do I need to feed it? I don't understand your responses. I guess u need to look at each specimen to determine the issues?

I just found a gold ladybug on the underside of the leaf of a sunflower. I tried to catch a picture, but it’s blurred and it flew away.❤ I loved it. It’s only the second one I’ve ever seen in several years

Please be clear on what variety of milkweed you're referring to. It's the Common Milkweed - Botanic name is Asclepias Syrians. This is the HOST plant for Monarch Butterflies. The Butterfly weed i - Asclepias Curavassica is not the host plant and does not spread by rhisomes. It's an excellent flower garden plant and still attracts butterflies. Again it's the Common Milweed that is the host plant and spreads by rhizomes (the roots).

It's my understanding from some other Stewards that a good rule of thumb is - Perennial weeds treat in Late Summer to Early Fall. Annual weeds - spring/new growth. It would've been great if he recommended a %/Dose of Glyphosate. Especially given this is so woody. Also, this definitely needs a Surfactant for Herbicides (and if near a body of water - needs to be appropriate for that).

💛Thank you for breaking the steps down completely. 💛 Fire ants, oh no😱 I was reminded of my first and only experience with them decades ago as a little girl with my grandfather who did warn me. We were in the hot Miami sun and the convo that he was having with a neighbor was taking too long. In my mind I just knew I was faster than they were before I tapped my toe in that ant hill. He had the neighbor call my mother to run me a bath. My grandfather carried me down the street to the house while I cried all the way back home! It was an excruciating valuable lesson that I learned from. 😂🤣

Good stuff! One tip: run the hole-saw in reverse. It'll take a teeny bit longer, but the bit won't grab and the hole will be a lot cleaner.

One of the most comprehensive documentaries on a dying Dusty Miller that I've ever seen. One must simply stand back in awe at the countless ours of preparation and follow-thru that such an endeavor must have taken. And we're very appreciative that you let us know in the video how the plant made out. Everyone loves a happy ending.

It is best purchased locally as shipping on straw would be too much. Check your local nurseries or big box home improvement stores. Landscapers use it when they out in a new lawn so maybe one of them might be able to point you to a local source.
