You know what you're talking about but when an animal looks at you like that they're open to training. You call it a, "check in" but that's the, "am I doing this right?" look. You posted this a month ago and I bet she's already trained. Will take a lot less doin' than a horse that hadn't been worked with at all.

@edswalkinghorses this is my first year keeping my 4 horses barefoot :) it has been a slow but awesome change. They have had some abscesses first, but their overall muscle mass has completely improved.

At what point is it important for him to just stand? I'm not trolling. I'm legitimately asking
@edswalkinghorses2 сағат бұрын
We like all our horses to be comfortable standing still tied. There is a lot of that for a riding horse. The good news is they do a lot of standing around even when they are out in a pasture. So, it’s not foreign to them but they need to learn to be comfortable being tied. The stallion here is named Wayne and he like all the stud horses will do that display behavior so I liked showing it because it’s something different:)

what a beauty, i love gaited horses. it is ver important to understand horses body language I get kind of irriatated when people use human language to try to control and calm a horse down, you need to use body language i understand the concept but never got to apply it before I rehomed my horses.

I would love to see this colt when his Spring coat comes in and to know his name and to see his sire and dame. Do you limit sun exposure for your Palominos? Do you paper your ponies? Are all your ponies purely Tennessee Walker or do you let other bloodlines in? So many questions. 🙃

I used to help manage a horse ranch and the Arabian studs used to back up and flick their tails at the other stalls. They were beautiful, but also such instigators. We had a huge paint stud that would get very riled up whenever they would back up to his stall, and he nearly kicked thru the paneling between stalls. I had to keep the studs at separate ends of the barn.
