That seems like way too much work....I would have tried locktite before welding, if that didn't work I would have centre popped around the bush or drilled and tapped a grub screw in to stop it turning
@bradspeed69Ай бұрын
@@saint150 Yeh maybe, I considered both of those options as well as using Loctite 3090 (two part ultra strong super glue), or even making a small bracket. Main reason for welding is it seemed the most bulletproof option. The bike gets a fair bit of punishment in the bush, didn't want to have to worry about it.

Having the same problem with an xr650r. I like the idea, although i was hoping to find a solution to help with the drilling part. My idea was to make a steel jig that goes on place of the axle blocks. To keep the drill centered. But that would be quite a bit of effort. I'll probably just get brave and free drill it one of these days.
@bradspeed69Ай бұрын
@@grigorirasputin996 The jig does sound like alot of work. I think the issue it'd have is the drill bit bending slightly under the pressure and wandering off centre (I've had this happen with my drill press on various things before). Atleast by hand if it starts to wander off centre you can manually correct it by angling the drill. On mine it wasn't so bad with the first pilot hole, it got more difficult with bigger sizes. Keep in mind, you have a little bit of leeway as the swing Arm Buddy hole is bigger than most factory bolt holes so if you're slightly off centre you'll still be ok.

That is a beautiful 250L my man 😍 I have one as well, full suspension, exhaust, sprockets etc and I love these bikes. I'm not sure if I'll ever sell it for something else as I think I'll always want something this reliable in the stable. Btw I think you'll love a 13-45 combo offroad if you decide to go that route. I keep a 45t on the rear and when I ride on the road I'll put the 14t up front, then slap in the 13t for the offroad days.

@@richardunderwood950 Thanks mate, appreciate it. I'm in exactly the same boat, I had looked at a 2T 250 but the 250L is so hassle free it's too hard to go away from😅 That's a great idea with the sprockets, hadn't thought of doing that. Do you run extra links in your chain for the bigger rear sprocket? I'll just have to make up an extension bracket for my chain guide, I'd get rid of it but the Zeta one wasn't cheap😅

How about the wirering? The stock headlight has a 3 pin connector right? Can you also just use the original wireing and switches or do you have to add another switch? I would like to have low beam and day light all time on and just switch to high beam. Thats also how it was stock on my bike (obviously without the day light). Would I therefore only have to connect the day light and low beam in row on the 450l headlight?
@bradspeed693 ай бұрын
@@nils8485 Yes stock is 3 pin, you could absolutely wire it how you've described. You'd just need to either make a wire junction to send the low beam power to both the low beam and the daytime running light, or probably the easier method - daisy chain it by crimping an extra wire into the low beam when crimping the pins on for the new plug, and running that into the daytime running light.

I just got the same inner rotor kit how did I install the kill switch. ?
@bradspeed69 Жыл бұрын
From memory, there is a kill switch wire (yellow one I think, but check instructions). It has to be earthed, again from memory (this was a while ago) when it's earthed to the battery it switches off the engine. If I'm wrong, it'll be the other way round. You need a 2 way switch, the kill switch wire from the Malossi kit to one pin, and an earth from the battery on the other.

Ok thank you. The instructions wasn’t very clear it just says hook up to a kill switch. Thanks again
