Hiram Revels was also the founder of Alcorn State and in essence the HBCU landgrant system. He wrote and presented the bill that created Alcorn University which inspired the rest of the 1890 landgrant hbcus.

I recall John MacArthur speaking of his summers as a shepherds helper, or something along those lines-and what he learned with regards to Biblical truth. Gods providence takes on a different look in each of our lives; and very often it's only when we look back that we see God's hand at work. All things work together...[Romans 8 v28]

Your videos on being grateful.I respect your work but did you know that your videos have a lot of value that if you can convey to a global audience, your business will massive grow exponentially and your dignity will increase as much as they benefit you. Problem was day by day you upload videos but no viewers reach them. You didn't get enough result on this channel. Thanks

That is always such a challenge isn’t it? What are the ways that you use to seek God’s answers? 1. God’s word? 2. Counsel from others? 3. Other?

I believe God will direct our path and He is faithful to incline our tongue to speak matters of His Holy (set apart) heart. Their is strength in willing submission to His authority in our thoughts, speech and actions. Strength in humbly saying “I can’t, but He can” in all we do. So humble yourselves before Him men of God, brothers, and allow Him to direct your path. He will always be faithful, He will not be late.

Brings 1 Corinthians 15: 57,58 to mind as for what scripture Charles might have stood on throuh his ordeal; "But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be you stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." Shows those God use's the greatest, are the ones the devil resist the greatest, but dont be discouraged, rather encouraged. Interestingly, I read somewhere (years ago) that Charles Simeon recognized the similarity of his name with a resident of Jerusalem who was known for being "righteous and devout" (Luke 2:25) also named Simeon, who lived during the time that Jesus was born. For generations, like the rest of the nation of Israel, Simeon was "waiting for the consolation of Israel," but he was unique in that "the Holy Spirit was upon him" (Luke 2:25). It is this fact that enabled Simeon to have confidence that he would see the Messiah during his lifetime; for "it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ" (Luke 2:26). When Simeon, being in the temple at the exact time Joseph and Mary came to dedicate Jesus, saw the baby Jesus, he picked Him up in his arms and said, "Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel" (Luke 2:29-32). Now it was Charles time to continue spreading that light, which he did in a great way, with three great aims of his ministry thus: “To humble the penitent, to exalt the Savior and to promote holiness.”

Would also like to add that our son is older than our daughter & praise God our daughter did witness dad's lessons on how to behave & control yourself, esp on dates. Therefore, our daughter has never crossed the line of showing affection with the other woman in front of hubby & I. I have prayed & asked for God's guidance on how to handle that situation should it happen. I trust that He'll give us a Word if it does happen. Thank you, Sir. May your video go far & wide & help those in this situation. Praying it helps families continue their relationship.

Thank you for this. Our grown daughter, also. When she told us, I felt the Lord say, "Love her." And so we have, of course! Our continued relationship isn't as it could be bc it involves the woman she's with, but we are grateful for interaction with them both, to love them both. This relationship doesn't mean that we approve of their lifestyle; of course not. But shows them that we LOVE them, just as God loves us while we are in our mess. Scripture says God's love brings one to repentance, & hubby & I BELIEVE Him & stand firm on His Word.

Remember seeing this movie when I was 21 years old. It all went over my head, not understand the deep meaning to this movie. I would assume in todays world no one would have such strong convictions. I myself think of ways around this by saying that running is not work, or that he said he felt God's pleasure when he ran, being a form of worship, lots of ways to justify running. The man lived out his life and stuck to his convictions. My mother was Scottish my grandfather had the same dimple in his chin as Eric. Thanks for the video!
