Taking further on Ganesh’s suggestion that every musician must do something, unique, I have been desperately looking for Carnatic music innovations in Nottusawram. This gènre of Carnatic music is nearly getting extinct. Except the mere reproduction Dhikshitar’s nottuswaram popularised by Madurai Mani Iyer. Even western emulations of Symphonies such as the brilliant piece done by Samadipta Mukherjee (that even got the attention of the late Lata Mangeshkar ji) is an avenue to explore. Thillanas, thukkadas … the possibilities are endless. With Ganesh’s expertise, and fast and slow paced playing style this genre is waiting to shine like the jewel in the crown of Carnatic Music. I am fantasising Ganesh Kumarash boisterously thrashing it out on stage, while Patri & Giridhar Uduppa embellish it in percussion. Hoping this request gets attention of Ganesh. My most respected inspiring Carnatic violinist. 🎉🎉
